The Yungas was since the nineteenth century a center of development and a road was built in the 1930s to link this subtropical region with La Paz. The road was literally carved into the volcanic rock of the Andes, resulting in a very narrow passage no more than 3 m. wide. Due to the difficulty of driving and the risk involved in many fatal accidents, this path is known as the โ€œdeathยดroadโ€. Since the new road was built in the last decade, intrepid travelers began to ride this road with mountain bikes from 4800 m. above sea level to 1500 meters. Spectacular scenes and curves full of adrenaline will accompany you on this active tour of the Bolivian jungle. If you decide to do this activity, at the end of the tour you will meet the rest of the group to enjoy Coroico together. (B) (L) (D)
