Itinerary of your trip 3-Day Akagera National Park Wildlife Safari

  • Day 1 Day 1: Transfer Akagera National Park
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 1: Transfer Akagera National Park

      Today after breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali and transfer you to Akagera National park. You will get to your lodge in the park in time for check-in and lunch. In the evening you will go for your first game drive in the park. Look out for the different animals that live here. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight Journey Time: 3 hours

  • Day 2 Day 2: Sunrise Game Drive In Akagera โ€“ Boat Ride On Lake Ihema
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 2: Sunrise Game Drive In Akagera โ€“ Boat Ride On Lake Ihema

      Today morning, you will wake up early and head to the park before sunrise to look out for the early risers. Look out for lions, elephants, buffalo, hyenas and the different antelopes that graze freely in the park.


      Later in the afternoon after lunch, you will go for a boat safari on Lake Ihema which will reward you with hippos, crocodiles and the countless water, swamp and savannah birds that come here. Some of the birds are the fish eagle, cormorants, and kingfishers among others.


      You will return to the boat for dinner and overnight

  • Day 3 Day 3: Transfer Back To Kigali
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 3: Transfer Back To Kigali

      Today marks the end of a successful safari. You will be transferred back to Kigali after breakfast. If you have an outbound flight, your guide will transfer you to Kigali airport

      This is a private safari which can begin any time of the year although June โ€“ September are the preferred months since they are dry Park entry and activity fees are included

      You need a yellow fever vaccination

      Carry your anti-malarial medicines

      You may choose which type of accommodation you want to stay in while in the park

      Book your safari to Akagera National park at least two months before the safari begins because the accommodations in the park are limited

      There are no scheduled group tours for this safari.
