Itinerary of your trip Rongai Route

  • Day 1 Kilimanjaro Climbing From Nalemuru Gate To Simba Camp
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Kilimanjaro Climbing From Nalemuru Gate To Simba Camp

The first day of a six-day climb up Mt. Kilimanjaro via the Rongai route will begin early in the morning on this day. You will be met by a guide and a mountain support team at the hotel in the morning for a briefing, after which you will drive to the Nalemuru Gate, which is the northern entry to Mount Kilimanjaro National Park (2,020 m). The group will begin hiking up to Simba Camp (2,625 m) after completing the brief formalities of obtaining climbing permits and registering with the search and rescue service. Your gradual ascent up Mount Kilimanjaroโ€™s northern slope will take you through a lovely coniferous forest on this dayโ€™s hike. Keep a comfortable speed at all times and donโ€™t rush. By the time you reach the camp, our skilled mountaineers will have set up tents, prepared meals, and prepared everything else. It is extremely important that you obey the following guidelines going forward because today will be your first day at this altitude: Rongai Climbs Mount Kilimanjaro in 6 Days Avoid drinking alcohol and coffee. - Take Diamox to help with altitude sickness symptoms. Drink more than 4 liters of bottled water each day (slowly, repeatedly). To lessen the discomfort of altitude sickness, most mountain climbers take Diamox in the morning before they begin their journey. In cases of probable allergies, we advise you to speak with your doctor before the trip. At night, you may experience discomfort associated with acclimatization to the high altitude because your body receives less oxygen than it does during the day due to a change in your waking breathing pattern. Considering altitude, you can consequently start feeling sick and experience headaches. Pay attention to your body and alert your guide if you experience any symptoms of altitude sickness.

  • Day 2 Climbing From Simba Camp To Kikilewa Camp - Mount Kilimanjaro Climb
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Climbing From Simba Camp To Kikilewa Camp - Mount Kilimanjaro Climb

The group will depart from Simba Camp to start climbing towards your second high altitude camp, Kikilewa Camp (3,630 m), where you may see the spectacular Kibo Volcano at its best, as we continue our second day on the Kilimanjaro Climbs 6-day Rongai Route (barring cloudy weather). This climb is more physically demanding than the previous one, so once you are in the camp, full rest is recommended.

  • Day 3 Climbing From Kikilewa Camp To Mawenzi Tarn Camp - Mount Kilimanjaro Climb
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Climbing From Kikilewa Camp To Mawenzi Tarn Camp - Mount Kilimanjaro Climb

The tourist(s) and the team wake up early, have breakfast, and start climbing to Mawenzi Tarn Camp, which is situated at the foot of Mawenzi Volcano, Mount Kilimanjaroโ€™s second summit. When you reach the camp, you will have lunch and a two-hour rest, after which there will be an acclimatization climb towards Mawenzi Volcano with a 200-meter gain in altitude, followed by a hike back down to Mawenzi Tarn Camp, where you will have dinner in the evening. Note: The acclimatization hike is an easy trek with a slight gain in altitude done in order to speed up the acclimatization process. You should take the acclimatization hikes very seriously. They help increase your chances of successfully summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro and save you from the consequences of altitude sickness, which might prevent you from summiting

  • Day 4 Kilimanjaro Climbing From Mawenzi Tarn Camp To School Hut Camp
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Kilimanjaro Climbing From Mawenzi Tarn Camp To School Hut Camp

This day will be spent climbing towards School Hut Camp (4,715 m). The landscape will change significantly to give way to a rocky semidesert. The actual ascent is not particularly challenging; just keep in mind to maintain a reasonable pace to preserve your strength for the ascent to Mount Kilimanjaroโ€™s peak. We advise you to get enough rest once you get to the camp, avoid strenuous activity, and drink as much water as you can because you will be ascending Uhuru Peak that very night (5,895 m).

  • Day 5 Kilimanjaro Climbing To Uhuru Peak And Descent To Horombo Camp
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Kilimanjaro Climbing To Uhuru Peak And Descent To Horombo Camp

A nighttime departure from School Hut Camp marks the beginning of your ascent to Uhuru Peak on Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895 m). Physically, the climbs will be manageable, but the altitude poses a much more serious challenge. Each pair of climbers will have their own guide with them for the duration of the climbs, who will be keeping an eye on your energy and mental fortitude. If youโ€™ve successfully reached Uhuru Peak, you may choose to descend to the nearby glacier. Then, after a two-hour rest, you will return to Kibo Camp and complete your descent to Horombo Camp (3,720 m). Remember that 90% of all accidents occur during the descent, including all broken arms and legs. Please be mindful of your feet, as there is a great likelihood that you will injure your toenails.

  • Day 6 Descent From Horombo Camp To Marangu Gate - Mt Kilimanjaro Climbs
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Descent From Horombo Camp To Marangu Gate - Mt Kilimanjaro Climbs

Our six-day climb up Mount Kilimanjaro through the Rongai route came to an end on this day. After a hearty breakfast, weโ€™ll proceed to the Marangu Gate, which serves as the exit to Mount Kilimanjaro National Park (1,860 m). The entire group will gather to congratulate you after you have descended the mountain, and you will then have the opportunity to leave feedback in the guestbook. Finally, we will provide you with your commemorative certificates (at our office) and arrange a ride back to your hotel.
