Itinerary of your trip Wander Through Tanzania On A Safari

  • Day 1 Day 1: Kilimanjaro International Airport / Arusha
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 1: Kilimanjaro International Airport / Arusha

*Get picked up at the Kilimanjaro International Airport.  *Head to Arusha which takes around 2 hours.   *Receive a briefing about the tour.  *Dinner and overnight at Mrimba Palm Hotel

  • Day 2 Day 2: Tarangire National Park
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 2: Tarangire National Park

*Drive to Tarangire National Park with a packed lunch after breakfast. It is around 2 and a half hour drive. *Enjoy a game drive with the Tanzanian tour guide. *Dinner and overnight at Flamingo Safari Lodge. Think of Tarangire National Park as part of a much larger ecosystem, and youโ€™ll understand why its game varies with the seasons. From November to May, much of the game leaves the park; herds of wildebeest and zebra head north-west onto the floor of the Rift Valley, whilst many animals disperse across the vast open areas of the Maasai Steppe. From around June to October, itโ€™s dry and the game returns to Tarangireโ€™s swamps, and especially, its river system. This is the best season for a game-viewing safari in Tarangire, which can be excellent. Particularly large numbers of elephant herds congregate here, as do many wildebeest and zebra. There are also substantial populations of impala, giraffe, eland and buffalo. Thompsonโ€™s gazelle, Cokeโ€™s hartebeest, boors reedbuck and both greater and lesser kudu are found here. The localized and unusual gerenuk and fringe-eared oryx also occur here, though in our experience they are seen exceedingly rarely. There are still thought to be a few black rhinos in the park. Lions are common throughout Tarangire, as are leopards, whilst cheetahs seem to favour the more open areas of the south. Spotted hyena are always around, and whilst wild dogs do sometimes pass through; sightings of them are rare.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Ngorongoro Conservation Area
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 3: Ngorongoro Conservation Area

*Descend over 600 meters into the crater after breakfast. *View wildlife. *Head to Lake Magadi. *Ascend the crater in the later afternoon. *Dinner and overnight at Flamingo tented camp. Supported by year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. Lake Magadi is a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually be seen here.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Lake Manyara / Arusha
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 4: Lake Manyara / Arusha

*Drive Lake Manyara National Park after breakfast. *Enjoy a game drive and packed lunch. *Return to Arusha Hotel/airport drop off Lake Manyara National Park is one of the few places in Africa to see tree-climbing lions. The forest has numerous wildlife like buffalos, elephants, baboon, impala, giraffes, zebras and pink flamingos.
