      Start your day with a cable car ride over Comuna 13, a neighborhood with a rich history of displacement due to conflicts in Colombia. Explore the vibrant street art district and ride the world’s first open-air electrical escalators. Indulge in a fruit tasting at Plaza la America, showcasing a wide variety of tropical fruits. Visit Parques del Río, known for its unique sculpture and peaceful ambiance. Experience Barefoot Park, a sensory oasis with water features and sand paths. Discover the Medellin Civic Center, including important heritage buildings, monuments, and the impressive vertical garden. Explore Parque San Antonio, home to notable sculptures by Botero. Marvel at the sculptures in Botero Plaza, also known as Sculptures Park. Visit the Cultural Palace and historic churches. Conclude your tour at Parque Memorial Inflexion, a memorial park dedicated to the victims of narcoterrorism, highlighting Colombia’s tumultuous past.

      Starting your tour at 8 am you begin your adventure with a beautiful scenic drive to an Old Peñol Replica Town in Guatape.  This town square was constructed to look exactly like the sunken village of Old Peñol at the bottom of the manmade Peñol-Guatapé reservoir. Here your guide will explain how, why, and when, and show you photos of exactly how this town once looked.


      You then venture to Guatape Rock also known as Piedra del Peñol, where you can climb the 740 steps to reach the top and have an amazing 360° view of the surrounding area including the 500 km shore-perimeter dam.


      Next, you’ll travel the short distance to Guatape town (The City of Zocalos) where you’ll walk the streets of this beautiful town and learn what is the Zocalo tradition and why it started. You’ll also get to visit the Plaza (main square), Remembrance Street, boardwalk (Malecón) the church, and maybe enjoy a tuk-tuk ride.


      To complete your day you’ll check-in to your hotel and enjoy the night in this wonderful lake side setting.

  • Day 4 Medellín Cacao Tour

      Start your day with a 3-hour drive to a Cocoa Finca near San Rafael. Enjoy a delicious breakfast with fresh fruit and hot chocolate. Embark on a 1.5-hour hike through the cocoa plantation, surrounded by bamboo, banana, and cocoa trees. Discover diverse flora and fauna, including tropical birds and monkeys. Return to the main house for a traditional lunch called Fiambre. Learn to make chocolate using artisanal methods, toasting and grinding cocoa beans to create your own chocolate bar. Take a short walk to the Arenales river for a refreshing swim and a chocolate exfoliation treatment.       There are no activities planned for this day, so just relax, drink plenty of bottled water (its hot here), and maybe check out a beach nearby.

      Travel to the small town of Minca where you’ll breathe in the fresh mountain air and enjoy a tour of this wonderful little mountain pueblo, including its wonderful cafes and artisan shops.


      Following this, you’ll receive a coffee tour, where you’ll learn everything about the production of Colombian liquid gold, from the seed to the cup.


      Next, you are off on a mountain adventure you’ll explore some hidden waterfalls, with the opportunity for a refreshing swim (don’t forget your swimming trunks)! Of course, throughout your journey, you need to keep an eye out for any exotic birds that happen to be hanging out close by!

      Discover the true rhythm of the Afro-Colombian Caribbean with a drum workshop taken by people from the drum school.


      Take advantage of this unique opportunity to learn about the real history of the Afro-Colombian community through the traditional beating of the drums that have lived for centuries.


      Following the rhythms of the Gaitas (flutes) and Maracas, you’ll learn the theory and correct methods of how to stripe, thump, and knock the musical instrument that was here before all others.
