Day 1: Welcome to Adelaide

As you arrive into Adelaide you can feel the history and culture of 'The City of Churches'. You will be personally met at the airport by our representative and transferred to your hotel. You can relax and use the rest of the day to explore your hotel and its facilities, perhaps take a stroll around the neighbourhood and central Adelaide.

Day 2: Adelaide Luxury Coach Tour & River Cruise

Adelaide is famous for stylish architecture, beautiful parklands, boutique shopping, cafe strips, sandy swimming beaches, fabulous arts events, festivals, nightlife, and sandstone cottages with sweeping gardens. The diverse cultural mix of its one million population guarantees that the food is sensational. Adelaide is Australia's wine capital and lies between rolling hills to the east and beautiful sandy beaches to the west, with world class vineyards within easy reach.

Your friendly driver will pick you up in the comfortable air-conditioned luxury coach before sharing experiences, fascinating facts and enchanting stories in the onboard full commentary throughout the morning. Today see Victoria Square (heart of Adelaide City), Gouger Street (restaurant cafe strip), King William Street's famous boulevard, The Terraces (4 terraces that separate the city from its greenbelts) and Adelaide's magnificent parks, gardens and greenbelts. See River Torrens with its delightful garden banks, Parliament House, State Library, Trinity Church (Adelaide's oldest church), fashionable Hutt Street and stop at Haigh's Chocolates to enjoy complimentary tea or coffee accompanied by fine Haigh's chocolates (Haigh's unavailable on Sundays). See Beehive Corner at Rundle Mall, Adelaide Oval (one of Australia's most notable cricket grounds and houses the Bradman collection), the quaint suburbs of North Adelaide; O'Connell Street (restaurants and trendy shops), St Peter's Cathedral, Colonel Light's Lookout on Montefiore Hill (spectacular views over Adelaide).

Following your tour of Adelaide, embark on a leisurely scenic cruise along the Torrens River on board the famous Adelaide icon, “The Popeye”. Take in the picturesque scenery and prolific birdlife as you cruise through the heart of this wonderful city. Finish your cruise at Elder Park and spend some time taking in this beautiful oasis in the heart of Adelaide.

Day 3: Barossa Valley with Special Lunch

Head to the Adelaide Hills to explore one of Australian best and most famous wine-producing regions, now regarded as one of finest in the world, and is home to Australia's most expensive wine, Penfolds Grange. Enjoy your delicious Special Lunch at a renowned winery restaurant, including tastings, winemaking tour and wine education. Explore some of the quaint and charming villages in the Adelaide Hills, part of the Mount Lofty Ranges. See the heavy influence of the original German settlers, such as buildings with steeply sloping roofs, Lutheran stone churches and the local versions of Germanic cuisine. Visit Hahndorf, the beautiful Lutheran settlement dating back to 1838, with its arts, crafts, cottage industry shops, pubs, traditional small goods and bakeries that evoke the tastes and smells of Bavaria.

Leaving Adelaide, enjoy a scenic tour alongside the Torrens River through the spectacular Torrens Gorge, see Kangaroo Creek Reservoir, Millbrook Reservoir, Williamstown (beautiful stone buildings) and learn the secrets of Barossa Reservoir's 'Whispering Wall'. Stop at Lyndoch Bakery for complimentary coffee or tea and a German sampler plate of sweet treats. Discover the art of great winemaking on your 'Behind the Scenes' guided tour of Jacob’s Creek Wines, housed in a charming historic chateau. Enjoy a tutored wine tasting incorporating introductory wine education, view the original winery built in 1897 with traditional winemaking equipment. Stop at Barossa Chateau for a delicious Special Lunch, your two course winery restaurant lunch with the opportunity to taste wines from this highly regarded vineyard. Experience the panoramic views over the Barossa Valley from Mengler's Hill lookout, continue through the old mill town of Woodside and the Adelaide Hills. Stop at Hahndorf (Australia's oldest German settlement), stroll under the Elm trees along Hahndorf's main street, see quaint cottages, craft shops and tea rooms. See the delightful villages of Crafers, Stirling, Aldgate (all set amongst the lush greenness of the Adelaide Hills) and Bridgewater (with Bridgewater Mill and Waterwheel). Head back to Adelaide with a deep appreciation of the Australian wine industry and the beauty of the Adelaide Hills.

Day 4: Murray Riverboat with Special Lunch

Pass By: Murray River, Throught the states of New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia, New South Wales Australia
Cruise along the mighty Murray River in a fully restored 100 year old paddle-steamer and enjoy a Special Buffet Lunch onboard. Your magnificent 160 ton riverboat is living history. She is one of the world's only steam driven, wood fired, side paddle, heritage paddle-steamers still in operation. Learn the rich history of one of the world's greatest river systems and the key town of Mannum. This historic Lower Murray town is the birthplace of Australia's paddle-steamer, hear the stories from the river-folk and learn how the river breathes life into this rugged region.

Travel by luxury coach through rolling hills and rural land now rich in green vineyards and golden citrus orchards thanks to the Murray, the arid pasture region of the Murraylands. Arrive at Mannum (birthplace of the River Murray paddle-steamers), cruise the broad waters of the Murray onboard your historic paddle-steamer riverboat, enjoy a delightful morning tea on board, whilst marveling at the stark cliffs, river red gums and willows that burden the waters of the Mighty Murray. Spot for galahs, cockatoos and pelicans. Time for your Special Lunch, a delicious buffet lunch served onboard your paddle-steamer as you cruise the majestic Murray. Take in the view over Mannum and the Murray from a scenic lookout, enjoy free time exploring Mannum, perhaps take a ride on the punt (time permitting). Follow the Torrens Valley scenic drive through Palmer, Tungkillo and Birdwood to Gumeracha; Continue down the Chain of Ponds to Tea Tree Gully. Return to Adelaide through the undulating green Adelaide Hills after full day of new memories.

Day 5: Victor Harbor & McLaren Vale

Pass By: McLaren Vale, McLaren Vale, Greater Adelaide, South Australia
The Fleurieu Peninsula is a holiday playground of wineries, seaside towns and lakes whose population trebles during holiday periods. The splendid seaside resort township of Victor Harbor is where the mouth of the massive Murray River finally meets the ocean. The internationally respected wine region of McLaren Vale has more than 60 cellar doors and produces amazing Shiraz, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay wines. The old paddle-steamer port of Goolwa is on Lake Alexandrina, near the Murray Mouth, and is joined by a bridge to Hindmarsh Island.

Tour through the Mt Lofty Ranges with its many quaint villages and panoramic views. Stop at historic Strathalbyn on the Angas River. See the river Port of Goolwa (where the Murray River meets the lakes and sea), Port Elliot, Horseshoe Bay, Encounter Bay and Victor Harbor. Perhaps ride a horse drawn tram across the causeway to Granite Island. Enjoy some free time to explore Victor Harbor. Then onto McLaren Vale wine region to see the vineyards, leafy olive groves, almond groves and magnificent old stone wineries. Perhaps taste top local wines at Hardys Tintara Cellar Door, sample produce at Medlow Confectionery and sample produce at Almond Train. Take in the views of the picturesque coastal seaside towns, before heading north back to Adelaide to conclude your full day of exploring the Fleurieu Peninsula.
