Itinerary
Andalucia in April is a great time to paint landscapes, when the Spring light brings everything into vivid relief and the colours are fresh. Spring flowers will be appearing in hedgerows and meadows, and the hillsides will still be flushed with green. This course, aimed primarily at first-time users of oil as a painting medium, will furnish participants with the techniques used to mix paints and work up a painting from back to front, ignoring details and creating layers.
Rather than working from photographs, participants will be encouraged to draw inspiration from the stunning landscapes surrounding them, poetic images and the work of other artists who have been similarly inspired. The week will include a visit to the Museo de Bellas Arte set in the Palacio de Carlos V, Granada.
