Under certain circumstances, evacuation could be prolonged, difficult, expensive or impossible. Clients should take special care. If they feel sick, they should tell us so we can start making arrangements for evacuation should it become necessary. Hospital facilities are good in Morocco. WHAT IS NEEDED An inclusive tour means just that. Full board and accommodation are included in the tour price, as of course are bike hire, back-up and 3rd party insurance cover. The only extras you would need to pay for upon arrival in Ouarzazate would be riding equipment (available for rental for 20 euros per day), drinks and souvenirs, should you find that essential purchase in one of the local markets. Accommodation differs greatly from the luxury of the large hotels in the centre of town frequented by film crews to small hotels in the Atlas Mountains and auberges at the dunes and in some of the oases. Insurance cover - local third party insurance cover is provided, but it is essential that you take out your own travel insurance to cover medical, repatriation and legal fees. You will also need a full bike licence. All that is left for you to do, is to get yourself down there. There are three daily flights to and from Ouarzazate, and numerous discount or budget flights to Marrakech. Others may want to incorporate a single dayโ€™s riding into an existing holiday plan, though we would advise you to confirm places in advance to avoid disappointment. CHECKLIST OF THINGS TO BRING WITH YOU small back pack lip balm , sweat wicking tee shirt cycling shorts thermal underwear in the winter months outer water-proof rain gear for Coastal and Mountain tours from December through May medical tape for hands (to reduce blisters) sun tan lotion torch or head-lamp (Petzl) bath towel ,bar of soap and shampoo diarrhoea medicine your favourite pain killer or anti-inflamatory medicine (just in case you have a little mishap) ear plugs

Itinerary of your trip 5-Days & 4 Nights Ktm-Desert Adventure From Ouarzazate To Ir

  • Day 1 Day 1: Ouarzazate - Tamalout
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 1: Ouarzazate - Tamalout

This will be a  good introduction to desert riding as it will be mainly fast and smooth tracks in the morning, give valuable experience of gravel cornering skills. A deep gravel river bed provides a challenge halfway through the morning, though we make sure there are enough stops for you to catch your breath. We will offer riding tips as the day progresses for those who need them. A picnic lunch followed by another one of those gravel river beds then a traverse of a large plain on fast, packed clay tracks, bring us to the village where we will spend the night in a mountain riad.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Tamalout - Alnf - Taghbalt - Zagora - Draa Valley
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 2: Tamalout - Alnf - Taghbalt - Zagora - Draa Valley

An interesting tarmac road winds through the foothills of the High Atlas to our first fuel and coffee stop and we hit the dirt on a beautifully flowing hilly track, that gets increasingly rough and challenging throughout the morning. A steep, and if there has been recent rain, rocky mountain pass at the end of the morning. A picnic lunch on the trail will be great.

The mountains become increasingly canyon-like in the afternoon, before a dramatic descent down the side of a canyon, brings us out onto the Draa Valley. A delightful piste runs through the ancient mud walled villages of this famous region, though there is the option of following the assistance vehicle on road to the hotel.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Zagora - Tamegroute -Mhamid - Erg Chigaga
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 3: Zagora - Tamegroute -Mhamid - Erg Chigaga

This morning we ride to the top of Jbel Zagora, a 300 metre mountain next to the town offering fantastic views of the Draa Valley to the North, and the desert to the South. We then head South on old Rallye tracks, where you can practice the skill of keeping the bike stable at high speed. A picnic lunch while we refuel the bikes, before we head off on the fast and flowing tracks that head west to the sand dunes of Chegaga. Upon arrival at the bivouac, we enjoy the shade of the restaurant tent and some cold drinks before heading out into the dunes later in the afternoon for some dune practice. You will enjoy evening meal in the bivouac , also a campfire and Tuareg drummers entertain us .

  • Day 4 Day 4: Erg Chigaga - Lake Iriki - Foum Zguid
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 4: Erg Chigaga - Lake Iriki - Foum Zguid

Enjoy the desert sunrise if you are an early riser, then breakfast and โ€œkit upโ€. This morning we continue the traverse of this section of desert, heading west to Foum Zguid. Initially rocky, the piste quickly smoothes out, and we are soon sailing across the (usually) dry lake bed of Lac Iriki. Find out how fast a KTM will really go.

We pick up an old Dakar piste which brings us into the town of Foum Zguid. We arrive at our hotel for lunch, and although there is a 3 hour loop of riding for those who have the energy, there is the option of just sitting by the pool and enjoying liquid refreshments.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Foum Zguid - Oasis Fint - Ouarazazte
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 5: Foum Zguid - Oasis Fint - Ouarazazte

Today, we will cross the Anti-Atlas mountains, and after a short tarmac liason, we arrive at an incredible gorge, where the local Berber villagers grow dates on an intensive scale. After one more village - and our last opportunity for shade until lunchtime, before we climb, climb, climb up dramatic tracks clinging to the side of this ancient mountain range.

A short descent and a quick blast across agricultural plains, brings us to Tazenakht for our lunch. The tour is nearly over, but the smooth and sweeping gravel track that brings us back to Ouarzazate is a delight. This will be end of our 5 days Ouarzazate motorcycle tour.
