Guide

We provide English speaking local guides at each destination of your trip, the chosen local guide will strike a great balance between knowledgeable storytelling, humor, and giving you sufficient space and personal time to enjoy the awe-inspiring sites. He will provide information on the places you are travelling through, offer suggestions for things to do and see, recommend great local eating venues. If you were interested in diving deeper into the local culture at a specific site, you can count on your assigned local speaking guide.

Transport

All transfers and sightseeing by an air-conditioned vehicle with an English speaking driver. Drivers of our private vehicles are experienced with good knowledge of the road conditions and well trained. In the wake of the ensuing COVID crisis, we have re-invented our hygiene protocols and have taken concrete steps along with training our guides, drivers, representatives and other staff at our destinations’ offices. So, we are fully prepared for your safe travel. •Hotels will conduct thermal screening of guests, baggage screening, maintaining kitchen hygiene, smooth check-in and check-out process along with daily cleaning of rooms. •Our drivers/representatives will be wearing masks, using hand sanitizers & gloves, and undergoing thermal screening before every assignment. Accommodation

• Accommodation in base category room of a Standard (3*) hotel. • Check-in Time : Throughout the trip, we request all our hotels prepare rooms in time as per your arrival time, especially if you are reaching the hotel prior to normal check-in time. (In India, normal check-in is at 14:00 hrs, check-out is at 10:00 hrs). This may not be always possible to manage early check-in for you; in that case you won’t be able to check-in immediately on arrival at some hotels. Instead, you can store your luggage and explore the new destination. • Pre/Post Accommodation : If you’ve purchased pre-trip or post-trip accommodation (if available), you may be required to change rooms from your trip accommodation for these extra nights. • Internet : Depending on the areas in which you travel, you may have limited access to the Internet. Hoteliers often charge for the connection (hourly or daily). • The style of accommodation indicated is a guideline. On rare occasions, if the suggested hotels are not available because of high demand, we book the alternate similar hotels for you.

The International flight tickets have to be booked on your own, once you book your international flight tickets, please share with us your schedule so that we can arrange your smooth pick-up and drop off from airport to hotel on your arrival day and hotel to the airport on the departure day. Passports and Visas : All travelers listed on the Participant Information form must be in possession of a valid passport and all relevant visas. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have valid travel documentation, including but not limited to passports and visas, which meet the requirements of immigration and other Government authorities at every destination. If your itinerary includes travel to any other country besides India, please check on visa requirements for each country that you will visit. Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities will be your sole responsibility.

DELHI - is a city that bridges two different worlds. Old Delhi, once the capital of Islamic India, is a labyrinth of narrow lanes lined with crumbling havelis and formidable mosques. In contrast, the imperial city of New Delhi created by the British Raj is composed of spacious, tree-lined avenues and imposing government buildings. Delhi has been the seat of power for several rulers and many empires for about a millennium. Many a times the city was built, destroyed and then rebuilt here. Interestingly, a number of Delhi’s rulers played a dual role, first as destroyers and then as creators.
Day 2 Day 2: Delhi Sightseeing

Morning after breakfast, sightseeing of Old and New Delhi. The rickshaw ride halts at the Red Fort built in the year 1648 by Shah Jehan. Visit Raj Ghat, memorial to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. It is a simple black marble platform that marks the spot of his cremation on 31 January 1948.

Later, you will be taken to New Delhi which includes Humayun’s Tomb, memorial of Mughal Emperor Humayun, built in the year 1562. The complex is a World Heritage Site & the first example of this type of Mughal architecture in India. Qutub Minar built in the year 1206 by Qutub-ud-din Aibek. It is the tallest (72m) brick minaret in the world, an important example of Indo-Islamic Architecture. Qutub Minar & its monuments are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Further we drive past India Gate, memorial built in the year 1931 to commemorate the Indian soldiers who died in the World War I & the Afghan Wars. The names of the soldiers who died in these wars are inscribed on the walls. President’s House, the official residence of the President of India, built in the year 1931. Until 1950 it was known as Viceroy’s House & served as the residence of the Governor-General of British India. Overnight stay at hotel in Delhi.

JAIPUR - The vibrant capital of Rajasthan is a flamboyant showcase of Rajasthani architecture and a firm favourite on tourist itineraries as the third corner of India’s Golden Triangle alongside Delhi and Agra. Popularly known as the ‘Pink City’, in 1876 Maharaja Ram Singh had the whole city painted pink, traditionally a colour associated with hospitality, to welcome the Prince of Wales (later Edward VII).

Day 4 Day 4: Jaipur - Diwali Celebration

Day 4: Jaipur - Diwali Celebration

Enjoy breakfast, followed by sightseeing of three forts of Jaipur, which once formed as the strong defense ring for the city. Start with Amer Fort (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), a 16th-century magnificent Rajasthani Fortress-Palace located on a hillock, with huge ramparts and watchtowers. You will certainly love the Jeep ride to the Amber Fort. Proceed to the 18th century Nahargarh Fort, with Indo-European architecture styles, stands on the edge of the Aravalli Hills and overlooks the city of Jaipur. The name Nahargarh means “abode of tigers”. Further, visit Jaigarh Fort, the huge and stunning red sandstone fort was built between 15th to 18th centuries. A gigantic canon named Jaivana is one of the star attractions of the fort.

Return to hotel and relax.

In the evening, you will join a traditional Indian family at a heritage haveli where you will be greeted by the owner & his family in traditional Rajput attire, then you will change traditional Turbans & Sarees.

The Diwali festival celebrations will begin with special Diwali Puja and prayer ceremony with the family followed by fireworks, rangoli, flower work decoration, heena (mehndi) and cultural folk dances followed by dinner with a noble family.

You will really be treated as a guest of the family throughout your visit here, it is an authentic experience and a great way to see traditional Indian Diwali celebration in action.

After breakfast, proceed for a full-day sightseeing tour of Jaipur city covering Jantar Mantar (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) observatory. Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) built in the late 18th century exclusively for the royal women so that they could peer down unseen by the world through its 953 ornate windows called “jharokhas” and balconies. Lastly, visit City Palace, from where the Maharajas of Jaipur ruled, situated at the heart of the city, which also houses the City Palace Museum.

Morning after breakfast, we will drive to Agra. Enroute we will visit Fatehpur Sikri.

Fatehpur Sikri- 37 kms west of Agra lies the ghost city of Fatehpur Sikri- an epic poem in red sandstone, built by Emperor Akbar the Great in 1569 and deserted 14 years later because its water supply failed. Its glorious courtyards and palaces conjure up dreams of the mysterious past. Buland Darwaza, the victory gate looms 134 feet high. There’s the imperial Jami Masjid, the tomb of Shaik Salim Chisti who predicted the birth of Akbar’s son Jehangir, the Panch Mahal, a strange building which resembles a Buddhist Temple, a cloistered courtyard which was the Hall of Public Audience, and the Pachchisi paved with black and white where the Emperor played chess using slave girls as figurines.

Day 7 Day 7: Agra Sightseeing

Early morning proceed for the visit of Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal which is the seventh wonder of world, built by Shahjahan as a memorial to his wife Mumtaz Mahal by the banks of river Yamuna. After her untimely death, Shahajahan had her mortal remains buried in this mausoleum. And after his own demise he was placed to rest next to his beloved queen in the same mausoleum The Taj has been called the most extravagant monument ever built for the sake of love. The great monument took almost 22 years to build and was completed in 1653. Around 20,000 workers from all over the country and central Asia were recruited to translate this dream into a reality.

Later proceed for the visit of Agra Fort- The foundation was laid by Emperor Akbar in 1565 and continued till the time of Shahjahan. The high red stone monument stretches for around 2.5 kms, dominating a bend in the river Yamuna northwest of the Taj Mahal. The palace is a notable for its smooth blending of Hindu and central Asian architectural styles. The Diwan-i-Am (the hall of public audiences), the Diwan-i-Khas (the Hall of Private Audience), the Khas Palace (the private palace was used by emperor as a sleeping chamber), the Sheesh Mahal (palace of Mirrors), the Shah Jahani Mahal (Shahjahan’s Palace), Jahangiri Mahal (Jahangir’s Palace) and the Akbari Mahal (Akbar’s palace) are the fascinating palaces inside the fort. From the rear of Diwan-i-Khas a door leads to Mussaman Burj, a two storey pavilion, where Shahjahan was imprisoned by his son Aurangzeb in his old age. From here he caught the last glimpses of Taj Mahal before he died.
