Day 3: Explore Tsavo West National Park

Our African photo safaris have quality time in the field giving you the opportunity to shoot and re-shoot for the perfect shot. Tsavo West National Park is the largest parks in Kenya, with the biggest population of Elephants in the country. Some of them have enormous tusks and also a characteristic red tint due to the color of the soil where they dust and mud bath. Most species of mammals are found here, including African Wild Dogs, Lions and Cheetahs can be seen frequently in Tsavo East, while Leopards are common in Tsavo West.

Here you can also enjoy some of the most beautiful sceneries in Africa, consisting in rocky hills and valleys, ancient lava flows and a stunning view on the Chyulu Hills and Mt Kilimanjaro. Photography in both parks is good. Sightings of animals are often far from the tracks. In some areas the bush is thick and it is difficult to spot animals unless they are on the road, which is not particularly good for photography.

Day 5: Explore Amboseli National Park

At the base of the mighty Mt Kilimanjaro and at the heart of a huge semi-arid ecosystem lies Amboseli NP. It consists mainly of flat grasslands surrounding the evergreen swamps fed by the melting snow of the mountain. These marshes provide water and food to the huge herds of herbivores that inhabit the area. In the west of the park is the Amboseli Pan, an immense seasonal lake that is dry for most of the year.

Beautiful scenes of thirsty animals crossing the pan are fascinating. On our photo safaris here in Amboseli we focus almost exclusively on photographing the Elephants. Our guides have intimate knowledge of the park and will take you to remote areas, away from the classic touristsโ€™ circles and where you will be able to enjoy in total peace and silence the Elephants in this extraordinary land. If you are keen on photographing Elephants, you will love one of our photo safaris trips dedicated to these beautiful giants in the wet months, when the Elephants are most active.

The migration is a movement of 1.5 million wildebeest with 400,000 zebra and 200,000 gazelles accompanying them along the way, making a total of over 2 million migrating from the Maasai Mara into the Serengeti in Tanzania between July and October. The Maasai Mara is like no other place in Africa; The Masai Mara is one of the places with the highest photographic potential in Africa and the world. It is part of the Greater Serengeti Ecosystem.

The density of wildlife in the Maasai Mara is a photographerโ€™s dream. The safaris will concentrate on the migrating wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, antelope, hippo, elephant, and of course the Maasai Maraโ€™s famous big cats. We might even see a lion kill, a cheetah chase, or a black rhino. All in all, these safaris produce life-long memories and the images often framed by the Maraโ€™s famous sunrises and sunsets.
