Guide

Our guides are friendly and professional for the mountain with wilderness first aid certificates along with many years of experience.

Meals

3 meals per day while on the mountain and on safari. Treated and filtered drinking water throughout tour. Daily hot water for washing.

Others

Arrival and departure transfers. Park entry fees. Camping fees. Team Kilimanjaro Rescue fees. Four-season mountain tents with double-layered sleeping mats. Cook and porters throughout tour. Portable oxygen tanks, ox meter and emergency first-aid kit. All camping equipment (except sleeping bag).

2 Nights accomodation in Moshi (Before & After trek) 6 nights in twin-share tents at campsites.

Flights

As we have travellers from all over the world, flights before and after the tour are not included in the tour price and you need to arrange these separately by yourself once your tour is guaranteed. As we specialise in organising the best tours around the world for you, we are unable to advise on flight prices or book flights on your behalf.   • Day 1 Day 1: Londorossi Gate To Forest Camp

      โ€ขLondorossi Gate to Forest Camp โ€ขElevation (ft): 7,800ft to 9,500ft โ€ขDistance: 6 km โ€ขHiking Time:3-4 hours โ€ขHabitat: Rain Forest Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner We depart Moshi for Londorossi Gate, which takes about 4 hours, where you will complete entry formalities. Then drive to the Lemosho trailhead (another hour to reach the trailhead). Upon arrival at trailhead, we eat lunch, then commence through undisturbed forest which winds to the first camp site. 

  • Day 2 Day 2: Forest Camp To Shira Camp 1

      โ€ขForest Camp to Shira Camp 1 โ€ขElevation (ft): 9,500ft to 11,500ft โ€ขDistance: 8 km โ€ขHiking Time 5-6 hours โ€ขHabitat: Moorland Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner We continue on the trail leading out of the forest and into a savannah of tall grasses, heather, and volcanic rock draped with lichen beards. As we ascend through the lush rolling hills and cross several streams, we reach the Shira Ridge before dropping gently down to Shira 1 camp. The view of Kibo from across the plateau is amazing.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Shira Camp 1 To Shira 2 To Moir Hut

      Day 3: Shira Camp 1 To Shira 2 To Moir Hut

      โ€ขShira Camp 1 to Shira 2 to Moir Hut โ€ขElevation (ft): 11,500ft to 13,800 ft โ€ขDistance: 14 km โ€ขHiking Time: 5-7 hours โ€ขHabitat: Moorland Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner We explore the Shira plateau for a full day. It is a gentle walk east toward Kiboโ€™s glaciered peak, across the plateau which leads to Shira 2 camp on moorland meadows by a stream. Then we continue to Moir Hut, a little used site on the base of Lent Hills. A variety of walks are available on Lent Hills making this an excellent acclimatization opportunity. Shira is one of the highest plateaus on earth.
