Please note only the Tour Leader may speak English. Your Tour Leader, Jaime, has extensive experience in overlanding since 2012 and is the company owner. Both crew members are experienced drivers, and the Tour Leader can assist the main driver when needed, ensuring a well-coordinated and secure travel experience. Rest assured you will be in capable hands during your journey! On top of your crew, we hire carefully chosen local experts and professionals to guide travellers through included activities, such as archaeological sites and trekking excursions. These local guides enrich the tour itineraries with their unique perspectives and knowledge. Collaborating with them ensures an immersive and meaningful travel experience while supporting and engaging with the local communities visited. Unlike the other companies, we include all tips for local guides and excursions in your tour price!
Meals
This tour includes 3 breakfasts, 4 lunches and 1 dinner our hosts provide. Another 3 breakfasts, 2 lunches, and 1 dinner are also included as Cook Group meals. What are Cook Group Meals? While camping, groups of 2 to 4 people take turns to plan the meal, shop and cook for the group. Your crew will always assist you. At the end of every meal, everyone helps to give a hand with washing and tidying up. Your dietary requirements are valued and accommodated to enhance the comfort of all travellers. Inform us of your needs during booking, and weโll consider them in meal planning. While touristy towns offer diverse options, certain regions may have limited choices. Common meals feature quesadillas and eggs with fillings like cheese, mushrooms, beans, chicken, or pork. Vegetarians might encounter repetitive options, while vegan choices are more restricted. In essence, despite potential limitations in certain areas, we prioritize providing suitable and flavorful meals catering to all dietary preferences.
Not included:
Flights
Booking your flights independently using popular search engines like Skyscanner or Google Flights is recommended. For internal flights in Mexico, consider airlines like Aeromexico for reliability and comfort, or Volaris for more affordable options, but be aware of possible delays. Additionally, ADO is a reputable bus company for comfortable travel within the country. Given the nature of adventure travel, itโs best to have flexible flight options or travel insurance to cover unforeseen changes or cancellations.
Others
Airport Transfers For the most efficient transfer to your hotel, consider using shared vans, which you can pre-book at www.bookaway.com to ensure fair pricing. Alternatively, look for transfer service kiosks at the airport exits for official pricing and secure payment options. Avoid paying directly to drivers and tipping. Although we can arrange private transfers with drivers holding signs, we advise against it due to higher costs without added benefits.
Insurance
Having travel insurance is essential to protect yourself against unforeseen events while on the trip. We require all passengers to have comprehensive medical travel insurance. We accept any travel insurance provider as long as we have the necessary policy details, including the policy number and the companyโs 24-hour emergency contact number. It should cover medical expenses, emergency repatriation, personal liability, and trip cancellation or curtailment. While other inclusions like loss of baggage or flight coverage are optional, itโs best to consider them.
