Standard twin-sharing accommodation in a three-star hotel in Kathmandu including breakfast (2 nights only) Teahouse accommodation during the trek in mostly twin-share and occasionally dormitory-style rooms.

  • Day 1 Day 1: Arrival At Tribhuwan International Airport (Tia) & Transfer To Hotel.

      Upon your arrival at Kathmandu Airport, you will be met by Sherpa Expedition and Trekking staff and taken to your hotel which will be followed by a short briefing concerning your trek. This will be an opportunity to meet your trekking guide too! Your hotel is in Thamel โ€“ the tourist hub of Kathmandu city. There is plenty to do and see here!

  • Day 2 Day 2: Drive From Kathmandu To Syabrubesi (1,460M) Duration 6-7 Hours.

      Today we have a seven-hour road trip to Langtang Valley. The road climbs out of Kathmandu Valley at which point you will have some incredible views of the Annapurna Mountains, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and other snow-clad peaks in the Langtang region. We will first head to Trishuli Village and then Dhunche Village at which point we enter the Langtang National Park. After leaving Dhunche we drive for another hour until we reach Syabru Besi where we stay the night.

      The trail today takes us across the Bhote Kosi (meaning Tibet River) which flows all the way from Tibet. We then ascend through the sub-tropical forest and connect with the trail coming from Syabru Besi before descending through oak and rhododendron forests. On the trail, it is possible we will come across Langur monkeys in the treetops. We will continue up a steep hill until we reach the Lama Hotel where we will stay the night.

      Today we ascend through the forest on the first part of todayโ€™s trek and along the trail will have views of Langtang Lirung from between the trees. At Ghora Tabela (3,000m) we come out from the forest and arrive at a Nepali army outpost. We continue along the trail and pass through several small settlements occupied by herders who come here to graze their livestock, including Yak, in these alpine pastures in summer. A little further on we come to Langtang Village, which has almost completely been rebuilt in a more modern style of architecture since the 2015 earthquake.

      After leaving Mundu the trail ascends through yak pastures and the valley widens offering more far-reaching views. After crossing several small streams and crossing moraines we arrive at the settlement at Kyanjin where there are a small monastery and a government-operated cheese factory, which is an opportunity to stock up for lunch and afternoon snacks. Arriving around lunchtime leaves us the afternoon to explore the surrounding area. If you have the energy then you can trek further up the Valley to Langshisha Kharka to see the marvelous views.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Exploration And Acclimatzation Day At Kyanjin Gompa.

      Health professionals strongly advise you to stay active during the acclimatization period. You can choose to visit the monastery and the cheese factory, walk up to the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or alternatively ascend Kyanjin Ri directly that is directly above the village, for some awesome views of the Langtang peaks.

      Today we return on the same trail we followed up through the valley following the Langtang Khola (river) to Mundu Village and on then to Ghora Tabela Village. The descent will certainly be much easier and faster than the ascent! After a lunch break, we continue down to Lama Hotel.

      Today we first come to Bamboo Village and then head uphill on the last part of the trek to Thulo Syabru Village. Thulo Syabru is a Tamang settlement in the Langtang region. We have time to wander around the village and sample some of the local cuisines. We will stay here in a hotel overnight.

      The first leg of our trek takes us to Phodrang Danda (3190m) with its spectacular panoramic snow-clad mountain views. We head through rhododendron forests and sub-tropical vegetation until we come to Sing Gompa or Chandan Bari. We then continue on until we come to Lauribina passing an area that is a sanctuary for red panda. As we get closer to Lauribina we can see Manaslu, Annapurna, and Ganesh Himal.

      Today we head u[ to Gosainkunda Lake crossing several streams and past grazing lands. There are more than a dozen lakes in this are: Saraswati Kunda (lake), Bhairab Kund, Dudh Kund, Ragat Kund, Chandra Kund, and Ama Kund are some of the larger lakes we can get to today. Gosainkunda Lake is important to Hindu devotees who believe that Lord Shiva will answer their prayers if they immerse themselves of the lakeโ€™s waters. We will stay overnight at a hotel in Gosainkunda.

  • Day 11 Day 11: Trek To Gopte (3640) Via Lauribina La Pass (4610 M) Duration 6-7 Hours.

      The first leg of our journey will take us about two to three hours until we come to Lauribina La Pass (4610m), the highest point of the trek. From the pass, you can see down to the Helambu trail which we follow to Ghopte. Once at the top of the pass you have incredible panoramic views of the rocky hills and snow-covered mountains as far as the horizon. We will then descend to the village of Ghopte.

      Today we will follow the trail for around 6 hours, firstly coming to Thadepati (3690m) which is also a superb place to look out over the mountains and countryside of the Helambu region. We then head down to Kutumsang where we will stay overnight.

      Todayโ€™s trail is undulating and passes through some beautiful countryside passing numerous villages each with their own predominant ethnic groups.  Out trek, today should take around five to six hours until we come to Chisapani where we once again have some remarkable views, especially in the early morning light as the sun rises over the mountains. We will stay the night at Chisapani.

  • Day 14 Day 14: Trek To Sundarijal From Chisapani And Drive To Kathmandu (1,350M) Duration 6-7 Hours.

      Today is an easy trek as we initially ascend to Shivapuri and then head downhill to Sundarijal from where we take a one hour bus ride to Kathmandu and then back to your hotel.

      Today your Langtang trekking adventure in Nepal ends and a representative from Sherpa Expedition and Trekking will take you to the airport, approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. On your way home youโ€™ll have plenty of time to plan a future adventure in this mountainous country.
