Itinerary of your trip Deluxe Wallowa Mountain Backcountry Trip

  • Day 1 La Grande, Or To Trailhead In Wallowa Mountains
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

La Grande, Or To Trailhead In Wallowa Mountains

Day 1: 5 miles After a short drive and a trailhead safety talk, it's time to hit the trail. Step into the wild for a 4 hour hike into a beautiful 120 million year old glacial meadow where we'll make our camp. Along the way, pass over crystal clear creeks and waterfalls, learn about local natural history, flora & fauna, Native American lore, and (depending on the season) pick delicious wild berries and mushrooms. Time at camp is time to bond with your family and friends away from modern distractions. No cell phone service here! Try your hand at fly fishing, camp games, or just put your feet up next to a babbling creek and enjoy the massive mountain backdrops. Your guides are also expert chefs and bartenders. Relax as they prepare you child and adult friendly cocktails, gourmet appetizers, and a dinner cooked over the fire.  End the night with stories around the camp fire and, in true American tradition- roasting gourmet s'mores.

  • Day 2 Day Hikes & Activities
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day Hikes & Activities

Take your adventure to the next level. The middle days of the trip allow you to truly experience the backcountry and see multiple high-mountain glacier-carved lakes, streams, and the chance to see an abundance of wildlife.  Wake up to the sounds of birds, a crackling fire, and fresh brewed camp coffee. Eat a hardy cast iron breakfast of local ingredients before putting on your boots for an easy day of beautiful hiking without a heavy pack. Odds are- you won't see a soul.  At a lake all to yourself, bask in the hot Eastern Oregon sun, read a book, or try your hand at fly fishing for gorgeous wild trout. Our guests always love staying an extra day- it let's everyone relax, soak in the natural beauty, and truly feel the human-nature connection. Back at camp, enjoy more delicious healthy food, fancy cocktails, and camp fire time.

  • Day 3 The Hike Out
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      The Hike Out

After a traditional Oregon breakfast and hot camp coffee, grab your pack and boots for the hike out of the wilderness. All downhill today! Take quick dip in the creek or gather for a family photo shoot. Back at the car, and it's not over yet! Enjoy a ice-cold beverage and charcuterie lunch while you soak your tired feet in a stream and exchange contact info with your guide so they can send you professional photos from your trip. Grab one of our famous camp cookbooks, shirts, or personalized camp coffee mug and start the scenic drive out of the forest.
