Accommodation

Standard twin-sharing accommodation in a three-star hotel in Kathmandu (2nights only) and Pokhara (1 night only) including breakfast. Guesthouse accommodation during the trek in mostly twin-share.

Three standard meals a day (Breakfast, lunch and dinner) during the trek .

Transport

Airport pick up and drop off by private car. Public Bus from Kathmandu to Bulbule and tourist bus from Pokhara to Kathmandu.

  • Day 1 Day 1: Arrival In Kathmandu & Transfer To Hotel.

      At Kathmandu airport, you will be met by a representative from Sherpa Expedition & Trekking and taken to your hotel in Thamel. After checking in at the hotel, you will be briefed on what to expect on your trek. This is an excellent time to ask questions about your guide regarding the trek.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Drive From Kathmandu To Bulbule (8,45M) Duration 7-8 Hours.

      An early start today sees us on the road heading to Bhulbhule along the Kathmandu-Pokhara highway. The drive will take you to Bhulbhule from where the trekking begins tomorrow.

      Lace-up your boots as today are the first day of our trek. The trail follows a flat path and climbs steeply up to a sheer cliff about 200 to 300 meters above the river. We then descend and arrive at Jagat Village. The trail from here is more undulating. We eventually follow the trail through forests until we come to Chamje.

      Today the trail begins by descending to a river and then we cross a suspension bridge. We then climb to 1,550 meters and have some great views down to the river below. We follow a zigzag trail to Tal. Leaving Tal we follow a narrow high and windy trail before coming to Karte Village. We then head down to the river and cross a suspension bridge before arriving at Dharapani.

      Leaving Dharapani we head higher and will find that it is much cooler at these higher altitudes. The terrain changes at this higher elevation as the trail heads through forests before arriving at the Tibetan village of Bagarchhap with its characteristic Tibetan architecture. We once again head higher and then arrive at the apple-growing region with many farms, pine forests and stunning views of Lamjung and Annapurna II peaks. The trail then follows the Marsyangdi River upstream and passes the villages of Manang and Koto before coming to Chame Village. It is a relatively easy trek from Koto to Chame - the district headquarters of the Manang region.

      This morning on the trail you will have superb views of Lamjung Himal. The trail ascends to a vast apple orchard and then through the pine and fir forest. We then head up to rocky area and then follow a steep path to Bratang. From here the trail ascends, and after crossing a few bridges and through dense forest we arrive at Pisang.

      The town of Pisang is the beginning of our trek into the Upper Manang region. We first come to Braga; a Tibetan village with its distinctive architecture and houses built one upon the other. One of its main features is its Gompa (temple), the largest in the Manang region. Manang is a popular stop for trekkers and is a great place to acclimatize before heading to higher altitudes.

      Health experts strongly recommend that before heading to higher altitudes you spend some time acclimatizing. They also recommend staying active. From Manang you will have some truly astonishing views of Annapurna II; Annapurna III (7555m); Gangapurna (7454 m); and in the south to Tilicho (7132 m); and the Grand Barrier (a 7000m ridge) in the west; Chulu West (6583m) and Chulu East (6059m) meters in the north. To improve the acclimatization process we will climb up to Mt. Khangsar (3756m).

      This morning we leave the main Annapurna circuit trail and cross a bridge over the Marsyangdi Khola (river). We then follow the trail upstream until we come to Shree Kharka.

      On the trail this morning we ascend and head towards Tilicho Base Camp. The trail is nearly all uphill along a rugged trail. From base camp, you have some awesome views of the Himalayan Mountains.

  • Day 11 Day 11: Hike Up To Tilicho Lak (4,920M) & Trek Back To Shree Kharka (3,750M) Duration 7-8 Hours.

      After an early morning start, we continue trekking towards Tilicho Lake. After reaching the lake you will have some great views over the surrounding landscape and of snow-covered peaks. Tilicho Lake is a calm and peaceful place where we can take a short rest before heading back to Shree Kharka.

      This morning we follow the trail heading to Yak Kharka. The trek has its ups and downs before we arrive at Yak Kharka, an open meadow with a few lodges to accommodate the yak herders who come here to graze their animals.

      Today the trail ascends to a ridge and then descends to the Marsyangdi River where we cross a wooden bridge before climbing higher. We then cross a narrow bridge and an unstable scree slope before we head down to Thorong Phedi.

      We set out early today and first have to ascend a steep path up to Thorong La Pass. The trail is marked with chortens and colorful Tibetan prayer flags. From the pass we head down to one of the holiest sites of Hindus and Buddhist followers, Muktinath Temple.

      Today we follow the trail along the banks of the Kali Gandaki gorge and then pass through a barren landscape until we come to Jomsom. Kali Gandaki Gorge is the deepest gorge in the world.

  • Day 16 Day 16: Fly To Pokhara ( 8,50M) & Transfer To Hotel.

      Today we take an early morning flight to Pokhara. Upon arriving at Pokhara we will take you to your hotel near Phew Tal (lakeside). The remainder of the day is free for you to relax, enjoy a coffee or wander around the many shops along โ€˜Lakeside.โ€™ Be sure to be sitting next to the lake at sunset and watch the sun set over the Annapurna Ranges.

      This morning we will take a tourist bus back to Kathmandu. The trip is quite long but also very scenic. We will stop for a lunch break along the way. On arriving at Kathmandu we will take you to your hotels in Thamel.
