Tbilisi was founded in the 5th century AD by Vakhtang I of Iberia, and since then has served as the capital of various Georgian kingdoms and republics. Between 1801 and 1917, then part of the Russian Empire, Tbilisi was the seat of the Imperial Viceroy, governing both Southern and Northern Caucasus.

Borjomi (Georgian: แƒ‘แƒแƒ แƒฏแƒแƒ›แƒ˜) is a resort town in south-central Georgia, 160 km from Tbilisi, with a population of 10,546.[1] It is one of the districts of the Samtskhe-Javakheti region and is situated in the northwestern part of the region in the picturesque Borjomi Gorge on the eastern edge of the Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park. The town is noted for its mineral water industry (which is the number one export of Georgia), the Romanov summer palace in Likani, and the World Wide Fund for Nature-site Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park. Borjomi mineral water is particularly well known in those countries which were part of the former Soviet Union; the bottling of mineral water is a major source of income for the area. Because of the supposed curative powers of the area's mineral springs, it is a frequent destination for people with health problems. Borjomi is also home to the most extensive ecologically-themed amusement park in the Caucasus.

Sataplia Strict Nature Reserve (Georgian: แƒกแƒแƒ—แƒแƒคแƒšแƒ˜แƒ แƒกแƒแƒฎแƒ”แƒšแƒ›แƒฌแƒ˜แƒคแƒ แƒœแƒแƒ™แƒ แƒซแƒแƒšแƒ˜ ) is located 10 km from town of Kutaisi in Imereti region of Georgia.[1] Visitors center is located in village lower Alvani, Akhmeta Municipality at the slopes of extinct volcano โ€” Mount Sataplia. The name Sataplia can be freely translated as a "honey place" (In Georgian language แƒ—แƒแƒคแƒšแƒ˜, tapli means honey. ) and in fact bees used to live in small holes and caves and honey was harvested by the local population.
