After the boat ride, walk around the ancient town and you will visit: The Phuc Kien Assembly Hall: an ornate Chinese-style temple that was first built as a traditional assembly area in which the ethnic Chinese Phuc Kien (Fujian) tribes could come together and socialize before it was turned into a place of worship. The Old House of Tan Ky: is described as the perfect example of an 18th-century merchant's house that has been well-maintained by over 7 generations and counting. In the Old House, your guide will take you through the antique-filled rooms where you'll find relics of the prospering trade cultural exchanges between the Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese. The Japanese Covered Bridge: the most famous bridge of its kind in Vietnam and probably the most visited tourist spot in the city, built by the Japanese community back in the day to reach the Chinese quarters. This morning travel about 1hour head to the Kulen Mountain – 1000 Lingas River is a huge plateau on the northeast of Siem Reap town approximately 50 kilometers. It was one of the most important sites during the Angkor period. The history of the Angkor era started here, when King Jayavarman II proclaimed, in AD 802, independence from Java, and settled his capital city on this site. This mountain is the resource place for hundreds of Khmer temple constructions, in the Golden Angkor Period, where one can find many secrets and amazing histories behind it. The mountain was the source of the Siem Reap River, which was later to supply Angkor City with water for cultivation and daily use. Since hundreds of lingas had been carved under the clear water on the mountain, it became holy river of Khmer Empire during Angkor. Lunch will be arranged at local restaurant on the mountain. After lunch, on the way back stop at Pradark Village, where you will see the villagers making palm sugar, handicraft for selling to tourist.
