Day 1 Hanoi - Mai Chau (L/D)

Hanoi - Mai Chau (L/D)

The day starts with our pick-up at your hotel at 8 AM. Transfer to Mai Chau on a 4-hour drive. Short break halfway at the local market of the Muong Ethnic Minority to learn about their daily life and customs or enjoy the panoramic scenery at top of Thung Khe Pass known as one of the 10 most beautiful passes in Vietnam. Reach Mai Chau Valley at lunchtime.

After lunch, a chance for you to visit the real local Thai traditional stilt house before cycling to villages of the Thai Ethnic Minority to learn about their daily lives and culture.

Later on, have a short walk to Mai Hich village where your homestay bungalow is located.

Day 2 Mai Chau - Pu Luong Nature Reserve (B/L/D)

After a local breakfast, start an easy walk off the beaten path to visit the beautiful surrounding villages with lush rice terraces, and hanging bridge across a wild stream. After lunch, move to Pu Luong Nature Reserve on a 2-hour drive.

Start your next 5 km trek winding through the green terrace rice fields and crossing the stream to visit remote rural villages of Black Thai minorities. Dinner at the lodge along with some rice wine “locally called happy water” made by a local family. Enjoy a quiet night in the middle of the Reserve.

Day 3 Hiking Pu Luong Nature Reserve - Ninh Binh (B/L/D)

Hiking Pu Luong Nature Reserve - Ninh Binh (B/L/D)

Start the day with an early wake-up to enjoy the breathtaking view from the lodge at sunrise. Have a short walk to visit Doi Cave - the most beautiful cave in Pu Luong Nature Reserve with breathtaking stalactites and stalagmites.

After that, follow the trail through the emerald terrace rice fields and jungle from Kho Muong Village to Pho Doan. This is one of the best hikes in the reserve.

After lunch, continue your adventure to Tam Coc, Ninh Binh.

Today, start with a transfer to Mua Cave where you climb up 500 steps to get a panoramic view of the whole area.

Then, pay a visit to Hoa Lu – the ancient royal palace from the 10th century. There you can learn about the heroic time of the two first feudal dynasties of Vietnam.

After lunch, get back to Tam Coc and enjoy a 1.5-boat ride through 3 caves. Chance for you to admire the landscape with lush rice fields, unique karst mountains and if lucky enough, some monkeys as well.

Then, take part in a fun bike ride around this area to Bich Dong Pagoda.

Day 5 Ninh Binh - Cat Ba Island - Cruise In Lan Ha Bay (B/L/D)

Ninh Binh - Cat Ba Island - Cruise In Lan Ha Bay (B/L/D)

Say goodbye to Ninh Binh for a transfer to Cat Ba National Park.

12.00: Welcome on board and enjoy a welcome drink at Beo Tourist Wharf.

12.15: Check-in and the junk starts cruising to Lan Ha Bay. It travels through a floating fishing village. Enjoy the first one-hour scenic cruise in Lan Ha Bay in between hundreds of stunning sheer limestone islands before the lunch stop by the beaches of Van Boi.

After lunch, you will have time to do some kayaking in the surroundings and swim at the beach.

Next, return the cruise and relax on the top deck and enjoy the scenery while the boat is gently winding its way to Halong Bay.

At sunset time, the crews will drop the anchor down for the night place. While the crews are preparing your dinner, you can take more swim off the boat or try your luck with the squid catching.

Day 6 Lan Ha Bay - Viet Hai Village Cycling - Hanoi (B/L)

Lan Ha Bay - Viet Hai Village Cycling - Hanoi (B/L)

Wake up early for fresh air and sunrise if you wish. After breakfast on the boat, move to Viet Hai village - a local village in the middle of Cat Ba Island. Time for you to cycle and explore the village as well as the natural surrounding of Cat Ba National Park.

Get back on junk and head back to Lan Ha Bay. Enjoy your lunch on the cruise and check out of your cabin at 11:00 AM.

Arrive back at Beo Wharf by noon. Get picked up by your driver and get back to Hanoi.
