Itinerary of your trip Camino De Santiago Experience

  • Day 1 Madrid
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Madrid

      The adventure begins!

We embark on our Camino de Santiago journey in the vibrant heart of Spainโ€”Madrid, the great Spanish capital. Upon arrival, youโ€™ll have the afternoon to explore Madridโ€™s most iconic attractions, from the historic Plaza Mayor to the majestic Royal Palace. Stroll through the bustling streets, admire the stunning architecture, and perhaps visit one of the world-renowned museums like the Prado. In the evening, immerse yourself in the local culture by joining a lively tapas and bar tour, where you can savor traditional Spanish flavors and experience the cityโ€™s vibrant nightlife. Get ready to make unforgettable memories as we set the stage for the incredible adventure ahead!

  • Day 2 Madrid โ€“ Sarria
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Madrid โ€“ Sarria

After a delicious breakfast, we will check in and head to the station. Get ready for a long train ride to Sarria. Make yourself comfortable and rest your feet because we have a long way ahead of us.

      ยญ

During the Camino de Santiago you will make many friends because if there is something that characterizes this pilgrimage is the socialization and hospitality. In addition, there are those who not only find friends but also love.

      ยญ

Take a bath, have a cold beer and relax... The adventure has just begun!

  • Day 3 Sarria โ€“ Portomarรญn
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Sarria โ€“ Portomarรญn

      The adventure begins!

To start this Camino de Santiago Clรกsico you will do 22 km today. Donโ€™t worry, you wonโ€™t find difficult paths to walk. You will pass through villages like Ferreira or Lavandeira, and you will find many hostels and bars. You will manage to complete this stage in approximately 4 to 5 hours. Before finishing this section, you will cross the Miรฑo river.

When you reach Portomarรญn, it is worth visiting the Church of San Nicolรกs de Portomarรญn, which was rebuilt stone by stone, as the old one is now... under water!

  • Day 4 Portomarรญn โ€“ Palas De Rei
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Portomarรญn โ€“ Palas De Rei

Up we go, my friends, we continue with this incredible Camino de Santiago! After resting and having breakfast, 24 km await us, which can be covered in 5 or 6 hours. In this stage we will climb uphill to Sierra de Ligonde, which is at km 13, after which there is a gradual descent. When we reach Palas de Rei, we will have multiple refreshment points, so letโ€™s recharge our batteries!

If you have any energy left - and I trust you do - we recommend a visit to Pambre Castle. It is really worth it to see a typical building of Galician noble architecture.

  • Day 5 Palas De Rei โ€“ Arzua
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Palas De Rei โ€“ Arzua

Fifth day of adventure! Weโ€™re already halfway through. Tighten your shoelaces and eat a nutritious breakfast, because today we have no less than 29 km to go. In addition to being the longest stage, it has a slightly steep profile, which makes it a challenge for pilgrims. It is often referred to as the "leg-breaker" stage. Here it is difficult to keep up the pace because of the many slopes and descents. But you will complete it without problems in about 6 or 7 hours.

In this stage, the Camino connects with the pilgrims of the Camino del Norte and the Camino Primitivo, so the next stages are busier than the previous ones. We recommend that you make a brief stop at km 15 in Melide, which offers all the necessary services, where you can (and should) try the traditional pastries and gastronomy. In Arzรบa you can taste the delicious cheese with the Arzรบa-Ulloa Designation of Origin and stamp your credentials in the Church of Santiago de Arzรบa.

  • Day 6 Arzua โ€“ Pedrouzo
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Arzua โ€“ Pedrouzo

Sixth day of our Camino de Santiago experience. After a well-deserved and hopefully deep rest, we will have a nutritious breakfast to be ready for whatโ€™s left. Today we will do 19 km.

From Arzรบa to Santiago there is a distance of 40 km, so we do NOT recommend you to cover them in one go, the most logical thing to do is to divide this route in two, stopping in Santa Irene, Rรบa or O Pedrouzo. This section is not difficult. You can cover it in approximately 4 hours. In Santa Irene you have hostels, in Rรบa you will find Bars, Pensions and Rural Houses to stay in and in O Pedrouzo, all the services. The last 2 km from Rรบa to O Pedrouzo are walked on the N-547 asphalt road, which breaks with the usual and comforting rural roads.

  • Day 7 Pedrouzo โ€“ Santiago De Compostela
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Pedrouzo โ€“ Santiago De Compostela

Can you believe itโ€™s been a week since we started this Camino de Santiago experience? Attention: Today 21 km await us. This section takes about 4 to 5 hours to complete. When we reach Monte do Gozo at km 15, we will be able to see the towers of the Cathedral for the first time. After walking the last 4 km, and with our arrival in Santiago, we will only have to cross the Porta do Camino, go through the old part of Santiago de Compostela and enter the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.

Once finished, go to the Pilgrimโ€™s Office, located in rรบa das Carretas 33 to get the last stamp of the credential and get the Compostela, which is free and the optional Certificate of Distance. And that we have an eternal memory of having completed this unforgettable adventure!

Have you got any energy left? Of course you have. We have to celebrate that we have reached the finish line, itโ€™s time for drinks and pinchos!

  • Day 8 Santiago De Compostela โ€“ Finisterre
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Santiago De Compostela โ€“ Finisterre

Good morning! The end is near. But today weโ€™ll let you sleep a bit longer. We donโ€™t have to walk many more kilometres. Today itโ€™s up to you what you want to do. You will have the day free to visit this beautiful city and there is still a lot of sightseeing to do.

Remember to buy your souvenirs to remember that you managed to finish this adventure that so many people travel from all over the world to do.

Hereโ€™s a secret... Did you know that you can climb up to the roofs of the Cathedral? From them you will have the opportunity to see the city in a special way, with panoramic views of almost 300 metres.

  • Day 9 Santiago De Compostela
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Santiago De Compostela

We leave the cherry on the dessert for last: today we will visit Finisterre and go to the lighthouse of the cape. In these privileged landscapes we will remember several legends related to the ships that were shipwrecked on these coasts, considered by the Romans as "the end of the known world". Later, we will have free time to have lunch in this beautiful village and taste the delights of the fresh products of the Atlantic.

  • Day 10 Santiago De Compostela โ€“ Madrid
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Santiago De Compostela โ€“ Madrid

And so we come to the end of this incredible Camino de Santiago adventure. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

After breakfast, get your things ready, we are heading back to Madrid. A long train ride awaits us. Especially to rest after an exhausting but incredible 9 days on the Camino de Santiago.

When we arrive in the Spanish capital, we will check in and then take a shower, put on your best clothes and we will go on a tapas or bar tour, anything can happen in this great city.
