      A Sherpa Expedition & Trekking staff member will be there to greet you at Tribhuvan International Airport and take you to your hotels in Thamel, followed by a briefing covering information about the trek. You will have time to wander the narrow streets of Thamel and do some last-minute shopping for things you may require on the trek.

      Day 2: Sightseeing Around Kathmandu Valley And Preparation For Climbing

      Today we will complete the required paperwork before heading into the mountains. You may wish to spend the remainder of the day sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley and visit Pashupatinath, which is regarded as the holiest Hindu temple in Nepal and where pilgrims worship Lord Shiva (situated on the banks of the holy Bagmati River), Bouddhanath, a Buddhist temple known as โ€˜Little Tibetโ€™ and then on to Swayambhunath Temple (Monkey Temple). From Swayambhunath we can head to the famous Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed site and situated in front of the old royal palace.

      From Kathmandu, we head off on a seven-hour road trip heading to the Langtang Valley. As the road slowly climbs out of Kathmandu Valley we will have views of the Annapurna Mountains in the west and directly ahead of us, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and other peaks in the Langtang region.  We will first arrive at Trishuli Village and then continue climbing until we reach Dhunche and enter the Langtang National Park. After leaving Dhunche we drive for another hour downhill until we arrive at Syabrubesi where we stay overnight.

      This morning we hit the trail and head to the Bhote Kosi (meaning Tibet River) which flows all the way from Tibet. The trail then ascends through sub-tropical forest and connects with the trail coming from Syabru Besi, and then ascends through oak and rhododendron forests. On the trail, it is likely that we will see Langur monkeys in the treetops. The trail continues up a steep hill before arriving at the Lama Hotel where we stay overnight.

      This morning we head to Ghode Tabala from where we will have our first views of the massive Langtang Lirung (7227m). The trail passes through a Rhododendron forest โ€“ that is more spectacular during spring when it is in full white, pink and red bloom. There is also a national park office here. We continue until we reach Langtang Village (3450m) where we will stay overnight.

      We have a fairly easy trek today but slowly gain altitude which means we move at a slower pace. The trail is not very difficult and will allow you more time to enjoy the valley and mountain scenery. We then come to Kyanjin Gompa in the afternoon. If you are feeling energetic you may decide to trek up to Kyanjin Ri (4779m) and then return back to the hotel for the night. This is a good way to acclimatize too!

  • Day 7 Day 7: Exploration And Acclimatization Day At Kyanjin Gompa.

      This is a rest day that will give you time to acclimatize before heading higher. Health specialists strongly recommend staying active, so today we will trek to Cherko RI (4984m) and take in the amazing views from the summit. It will take about 5 to 6 hours to complete the return journey. This is said to be one of the best places to view the nearby mountains of the Langtang region. We will stay at Kyanjin Gompa overnight.

      This morning we will head up to Naya Khang Base Camp. We initially head to Tserko Ri and then follow the trail past grazing land and then arrive at Naya Khang Base Camp where we will stay overnight.

      Today we trudge through the snow to high camp. The trail is quite steep, rocky and has several glaciers we need to cross. Along the trail, you can expect to have some fantastic views of Langtang Lirung and other snow-capped peaks. We will stay here overnight.

  • Day 10 Day 10: Climb From High Camp To Summit Of Naya Kang Peak (5844M) & Return To Nyengang Kharka 9-10 Hours.

      We have a long tough day ahead of us today of about eight to nine hours as we ascend to the peak. We hope to reach a peak around lunchtime and be blown away with the panoramic views of Shishapangma, Dorje Lakpa, Gangchempo, Naya Kang, Tserko Ri and Langtang Lirung. This is an excellent photo opportunity. After a short time to rest we will head down to base camp and on to Nyengang Kharka Base Camp for the night.

      We have set aside an extra day in the event that the weather is not suitable for climbing or health related issues.

      Today we descend for five to six hours and head back to Kyanjin Gompa where we will stay overnight.

      As we descend we will follow the Langtang Khola (river) and then arrive at Langtang Village and later Ghora Tabela where we may stop for lunch. We will stay at Lama Hotel tonight.

      Today we have a five to six-hour trek along a steep trail passing through birch and bamboo forests and then through the valley and along the banks of the Langtang River. We will then come to the predominantly Tamang village of Syabrubesi where we will stay overnight.

      An early start to the day has us heading back to Kathmandu following the beautiful Trishuli River Valley and with views over terraced fields and lush forest with the mountains disappearing behind us. On arrival at Kathmandu, we will take you back to your hotels in Thamel.

      Today a representative from Sherpa Expedition & Trekking will take you to Kathmanduโ€™s Tribhuvan International Airport three hours prior to your departure from Nepal.
