After walking for nearly an hour, you will see the gleaming Mt. Tamserku (6,608m) on your right, as well as the tranquility of pine, fir, and juniper forests along the way. If the weather is clear, you might even see Mt. Everest peering over the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge.

Continue walking until you reach the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park, Namche Bazaar, the gateway to Mount Everest, and the regionโ€™s main trading center. On that day, you will cross five suspension bridges, the last of which, known as the Hillary Bridge, is the highest. It is an uphill walk from Hillary Bridge to Namche Bazaar.

Most trekkers prefer to wake up before sunrise to take in the breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Thamserku, Amadablam, and other majestic peaks in Sagarmatha National Park. One can truly appreciate the magnitude of the mountains by observing the shadows they cast on the clouds above. As an energy source, try salt-butter tea and champa, a type of barley commonly consumed by Sherpas in the region.
