      From Sarria to Portomarín

      The road from Sarria to Portomarín is full of small rural villages, chapels of romanesque style, and a quiet and peaceful path. After 22 km of route you arrive at Portomarín, one of the most beautiful villages of this section of the journey.

      In this stage you start crossing a pine forest, and it takes you through a multitude of villages. It is worth mentioning the Church of Santa María de Castromaior, Romanesque style. A the end of the day you reach the emblematic village of Palas de Rei, one of the most iconic stops on the way.

  • Day 4 From Palas de Rei to Arzúa

      Today is the longest stage, 29 km separate Palas de Rei from Arzúa. Among the main points of interest you'll find the medieval village of Ribadiso before reaching Arzúa, one of the favorite places of the pilgrims.

      Once in Arzúa we recommend you try the well-known cheese.

  • Day 5 From Arzúa to Pedrouzo

      Now the journey takes you through eucalyptus forests, villages and streams. We recommend you visit the Chapel of Santa Irene, a mandatory stop for pilgrims.

At the Monte do Gozo you can observe from the heights the beautiful city of Santiago de Compostela and its cathedral- your final destination. When arriving in Santiago do not forget to ask for the Compostela in the Pilgrim's Office, to visit the old area and to rest in the main square.
