Day 1: Tokyo - Takayama

Your first stop is Mt Fuji (11:10 - 11:50). Upon arriving at Mt. Fuji 5th Station, spend the following 40 minutes discovering and soaking in the breathtaking views of Japan. A well-known symbol of Japan standing at 3776 meters high, the spectacular Mt. Fuji has made the subject of literature and art throughout Japanese history.

Day 2: One free day at Lake Kawaguchi

You have free time until the bus departure at 14:25 for Takayama.
You can choose to enjoy the spectacular view of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi on Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway. You can also visit museums such as Kawaguchiko Music Forest Museum. If you would like some relaxing time, you can visit local hot springs.

Day 3: One free day at Hida Takayama

Stop At: Hida-Takayama Miyagawa Morning Market, Shimosannomachi, Takayama 506-0841 Gifu Prefecture
Start the day by walking around 2 Takayama Morning Markets, Miyagawa Morning Market and Jinyamae Morning Market, where you can enjoy a wide variety of delicious and creative local specialties, such as freshly squeezed orange juice served in orange peel cups or freshly brewed coffee in cookie cups. Enjoy a leisurely day exploring the area at your own pace. You can also find numerous handmade crafts here.

Day 4: Alpine Route

Stop At: Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, Ashikuraji, Tateyama-machi, Nakaniikawa-gun 930-1406 Toyama Prefecture
Start the โ€œSnow Wallsโ€ Alpine Route Day Tour. Get on the Express Bus at Nohi Bus Center at Takayama station, and the tour of Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route from Ogizawa to Tateyama begins. You can enjoy the dynamic scenery of the Alpine Route, known as the โ€œRoof of Japanโ€.
Please be aware that no tour conductor accompanies you on this day, so you will have to move from the starting point to the goal by yourself. Make sure you will catch the express bus leaving Toyama Station at 18:55 at the end of the day.

Day 5: Takayama โ€“ Shirakawago โ€“ Kanazawa

Kenrokuen Garden: Enjoy what is considered one of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan. Located in Kanazawa Prefecture, next to Kanazawa Castle, the garden spreads across 11.4 acres of land, with a large artificial pond, hills and houses dotted throughout telling the tale of past times.

Day 8: Kyoto 1-Day Tour

Stop At: Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, 68 Fukakusa Yabunouchicho, Fushimi-ku, Kyoto 612-0882 Kyoto Prefecture
Upon arrival at your first stop around 10:00am, Fushimi Inari Taisha shrine, you will tour for about an hour. Fushimi Inari Taisha is the head shrine for some 30,000 Inari shrines all across Japan. It is especially famous for its seemingly endless 1,000 vermilion shrine torii (gates). Fushimi Inari was dedicated to the Gods of agriculture. Afterward, you will head toward Kiyomizu Temple at 11:20.

There is a Japanese proverb, "jump off the stage at Kiyomizu." This is the Japanese equivalent of the English expression "to take the plunge." Here in the Main Hall, there is a large wooden stage that juts out over the hillside. It was built without using a single nail and is supported by 139 pillars. The view of the city of Kyoto from this Kiyomizu Stage is magnificent. The Kiyomizu-dera (the temple of clear water) was named after the Otowa Waterfall which is said to be good for your longevity, health, and study if you drink from it. This temple is famous for the cherry blossoms in spring and the foliage in autumn.

Stop At: Kinkakuji Temple, 1 Kinkakujicho, Kita-ku, Kyoto 603-8361 Kyoto Prefecture
You will tour Kinkaku-ji temple from 2:10pm until 02:55 pm. Kinkaku, a pagoda made to house the sacred relics of the Buddha, has given this temple the popular name of Kinkaku-ji (Temple of the Golden Pavilion). But the official name of this branch temple of the Rinzai sect Zen temple of Shokoku-ji is Rokuon-ji. The view of Kinkaku which is reflected in the Kyoko-chi (Mirror Pond) is very beautiful. This was built by the third Ashikaga Shogun Yoshimitsu for his own villa but turned into a temple after his death. This temple was rebuilt in 1955.

Stop At: Arashiyama, Ukyo-ku, Kyoto 616-0007 Kyoto Prefecture
The final destination is Arashiyama district, located in the Western part of Kyoto. This area becomes most attractive around early April and late November when the cherry blossoms bloom and the colors of the fall seasons usually peak. During the summer months, traditional cormorant fishing is practiced on the Hozu River for tourists to watch. One highly recommended spot is the Sagano Bamboo Forest. It is a pleasantly cool 100 meter long walkway that begins from the side of the world heritage Tenryuji Temple. You'll spend time here from 03:30 pm - 04:50 pm, and then head back to Osaka.
