  • Day 1 Arrival In Vientiane City

      Arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel by private car with guide.

      After a rest, in the afternoon we will begin to discover the capital of the country with a visit to Vat Sisaket, the only temple that has been preserved intact since the Siamese invasion in 1828. The inner walls of its cloister contain hundreds of statues of Buddha. We will continue to Vat Phra Keo, which today is a museum of Buddhist art with Lao and Khmer works. It was once a temple that housed the Emerald Buddha, which is now in the Royal Palace of Bangkok. The walk through the city will continue to That Luang, a golden stupa that is the most sacred place in Laos. Finally, we will climb the Patuxai monument, also called Anousavari. From there you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city.

  • Day 2 Visit To Buddha Park & Orchid Farm

      Visit To Buddha Park & Orchid Farm

      Breakfast at the hotel and departure to the Development Centre for disabled women, where their rights are defended and they are given recognition and equal opportunities while contributing to their training in different fields so that they gain self-confidence and independence. Next we will leave for Buddha Park, a unique esplanade next to the Mekong River that contains more than 200 Hindu and Buddhist religious sculptures. Lunch in Tha Ngon while we take a boat ride along the Nam Ngum River.

      In the afternoon, we will return to Vientiane to visit the orchid farm established in 2006 for the conservation of biodiversity. At the Vientiane farm there are more than 2000 plants and 300 different recognized varieties.

      Then, we can take a walk along the Mekong River to enjoy the sunset and see the Chao Anouvong night market where you can taste the typical food of the area.

  • Day 3 Destination To Vang Vieng City

      Destination To Vang Vieng City

      Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Vang Vieng by road (about 3 hours). On the way, we will pass rice fields, tropical forests, lakes, palm trees and rural townships. After arriving, we can take a canoe ride on the Nam Song River in the afternoon (not included). Overnight in Vang Vieng.

      Breakfast at the hotel. We will meet the guide to cross the Nam Song River via the bamboo bridge and head to the Blue Lagoon and Than Pou Kham Cave, which houses hidden passageways full of stalactites and stalagmites, underground rivers, wells and chimneys up to 80m high. We will continue with a bike ride (26km with support car) back to Vang Vieng. On the way we will stop at some local villages. We will arrive in Vang Vieng where we will enjoy a sunset by the river.

  • Day 5 Destination To Luang Prabang City

      Breakfast at the hotel. We will leave Vang Vieng at around 09:00 to begin the journey to Luang Prabang, the former Royal Capital, today the spiritual and cultural centre of the country. On the way we will visit a few villages to learn more about daily life here and to rest a bit.

      We will arrive in Luang Prabang in the afternoon. Then we will visit Mount Phou Si from where you can contemplate the beauty of the city, the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers and the surrounding mountains. Despite the 328 steps to climb to the top, the colours of the sky at sunset and the reflections of the sun on the temple cheer us up and make the climb worthwhile. The stairs are shaded by the frangipani trees making the journey easier. On the way back, we will explore the Hmong night market. It is a daily market where this ethnic minority sells its crafts. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

      Exploring The Highlights Of Luang Prabang By Bike

      Today we will spend the day exploring the highlights of Luang Prabang by bike. The first stop will be the National Museum, the former Royal Palace, where the sacred golden sculpture of โ€œPrabangโ€ that gives the city its name is housed. Next, we will visit Vat Mai, the former royal temple. Vat Sene: one of the most beautiful temples in the city, with its red walls and golden bas-reliefs. The TAEC (Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre), which hosts various exhibitions on the ethnic diversity of Laos, is located in a restored mansion of a French judge. Vat Visoun: where the famous Watermelon Stupa is located, so called because of its hemispherical shape. The temple was destroyed by the Black Flags of China and restored in 1930 by Buddhist monks and local people. Vat Aham, where the two geniuses of Luang Prabang meet, and The Heritage House, where a perfect example of traditional Luang Prabang architecture, made of wood and pillars, is preserved behind Vat Xieng Thong. In the afternoon, enjoy the sunset over the Mekong River from Vat Siphouthabath.

  • Day 7 Excursion To Pak Ou Caves & Kuang Si Falls

      Excursion To Pak Ou Caves & Kuang Si Falls

      In the early morning, we can take part in a traditional almsgiving ceremony. Monks in their saffron robes go out to collect offerings from the local people. We will stop by the local market before returning to the hotel for breakfast. Next, we will visit Wat Xieng Thong, one of the most emblematic temples in Laos at the confluence of the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers. Then, we will embark on a boat for a trip along the Mekong River to the Pak Ou Caves. These two caves house thousands of golden Buddha statues, of different shapes and sizes, these statues are offerings from pilgrims. Return to Luang Prabang by boat. In the afternoon, we will visit the turquoise waterfalls of Kuang Si where we can cool off in the heavenly waters. We will continue with a visit to the reception centre for Asian black bears. Return to Luang Prabang and free time.

      We will take part in the Baci ceremony. Baci is a typical practice of the Laotians. For them, animism and Buddhism meetings are very important in everyday life as they allow to maximize the chances of success in any action undertaken. Local people believe in spirits that correspond to the 32 parts of the body. In this ceremony they are called to return to the body and cotton bracelets are tied on the wrist of others as a symbol that the spirits are trapped inside. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
