      Arrive in Nouakchott and travel to Atar via private car 4ร—4 hilux  (approx. 5 hours). Check-in to your hotel in Atar and take some rest after the journey. In the evening, explore the local markets and enjoy some traditional Mauritanian cuisine for dinner.

      Chinguetti or Chinguetti (Arabic: ุดู†ู‚ูŠุท ลกinqฤซแนญi) is a town in west-central Mauritania, located on the desert plateaus of Adrar. Along with other old fortified towns (ksour) in Mauritania, the town has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1996. The town is split in two by a wadi which today has dried up. On one side is the old town, and on the other the new.

Nouadhibou is consequently located merely a couple of kilometres from the border between Mauritania and Morocco.
