All staff are certified in Wilderness First-Aid and CPR, and trained in Risk Management, Outdoor Leadership & Teamwork, Wilderness Skills & Decision-making, and Cultural Awareness. We also employ local guides in each of our destinations, who act as a critical link between our volunteers and the communities we empower.

Meals

Our experienced, local chefs take pride in providing our volunteers with three meals a day, as well as introducing them to the local cuisine and culture of the region. Meals are filling, healthy, and delicious. We can accommodate dietary restrictions as well.

Transport

GIVE provides all transportation throughout your program. Once you land at your desintation and meet with your group, all transportation will be planned for you!

All accommodations within Tanzania have access to basic amenities and security. Shared rooms, separated by gender.

Insurance

All GIVE volunteers must have Travelers Insurance. This will provide coverage for trip cancellation, trip interruption, lost or stolen items, baggage claims, 24-hour medical evacuation, and more, which will put your mind at ease.

      Trip Commencement: Group arrives in Dar Es Salaam. Spend the night in our accommodations and get to know your fellow volunteers!

      Ferry to Zanzibar Island. Settle into our accommodations on the beach before orientation and meeting your host community to immerse yourself in one of the most unique cultures on the planet.

      Day 3-10: Volunteering On Zanzibar:

      Zanzibar Volunteer and Adventure Activities: Wake up each day to the sound of waves crashing on the beach. after breakfast, weโ€™ll begin work on our English education and school construction projects around 8:00 am. volunteer until lunchtime and then relax on the beach for a couple hours before returning to the project site for the rest of the afternoon. In the late afternoon, weโ€™ll wrap up volunteer work and head out on a variety of adventure and cultural immersion activities before dinner โ€“ sailing to desert islands, playing soccer with locals on the beach, taking Swahili language lessons, snorkeling amongst vibrant reefs, painting with local artists or just chilling in paradise. Dolphin Day: Depart for the Southern tip of the island, take a boat past the break and dive into the Indian Ocean to search and swim with pods of wild dolphins! Weโ€™ll spend the afternoon feasting on a special local lunch and enjoying the white sandy beaches and turquoise waters before heading home.
