      Mikumi National Park abuts the northern border of Africaโ€™s biggest game reserve - the Selous โ€“ and is transected by the surfaced road between Dar es Salaam and Iringa. The open horizons and abundant wildlife of the Mkata Floodplain, the popular centrepiece of Mikumi, draw frequent comparisons to the more famous Serengeti Plains. Mikumi is famous for its sightings of Lion, Giraffe and Eland, it also boost a huge variety of birds with over 400 species recorded.
