      Touching down at the airport, you’ll be met by your Discover Corps guide for the 2.5 hour journey to our hotel in the charming town of La Fortuna, at the base of the impressive Arenal Volcano. Having settled in, we’ll enjoy a

      Day 2: Experience A Cooking Class And Help Out At A Reforestation Project

      We’ll spend the next morning immersing ourselves in local culture, visiting a rural community and experiencing their way of life. You’ll enjoy an authentic dance presentation by the school children and demonstration of traditional agricultural methods, before spending a rewarding afternoon assisting a reforestation project. Get involved as you participate in a pure sugar cane juice and tortilla making class a local home.  In the afternoon,

      Guests with a sweet tooth are in luck this morning, when we’ll delve into a hands-on program all about the cacao bean – the source of chocolate and cocoa. We’ll learn the story of this crop, from harvesting to production, before enjoying the finished product. In the afternoon, hit the road to Monteverde for a nice dinner and relaxing evening. (B,L,D)

      Day 4: Hike Through The Remarkable Cloud Forests Of Monteverde

      Today, we’ll visit what is perhaps Costa Rica’s most remarkable natural environment in the form of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Here, a staggering 2.5% of the world’s biodiversity is represented. We’ll explore the rainforest with an unforgettable hike on hanging bridges through the canopy and the clouds – if you’re feeling adventurous, you can also try the optional 15-cable zip line. By night, we’ll look for nocturnal creatures with an expert naturalist guide. (B,L,D)

      Day 5: Beach Relaxation In Manuel Antonio

      Departing the forest, we’ll head today for Quepos, a lively surf town on Costa Rica’s western coast. Costa Rica is a country of mountains, so be prepared for your longest drive today - a five-hour drive through beautiful winding roads with stops along the way.

      After your time in the rainforest yesterday and your drive today, the pristine beaches of the surrounding Manuel Antonio are perfect for some relaxation, while Quepos itself is a fun town to explore, making the journey well worth the wait! (B,L,D)

      Day 6: Meet And Care For Local Wildlife At A Rescue Center

      Wildlife lovers are in for a treat this morning, as we head to a local rescue center that helps to care for injured and at-risk animals from the area’s rainforests and coastline. Residents include sloths, toucans, monkeys, and anteaters; you’ll help prepare the animals’ food while learning more about Costa Rican wildlife. (B,L,D)

      Day 7: Ride The Rapids Of The Rio Savegre Or Explore Manuel Antonio National Park

      If you’re feeling adventurous, spend this morning enjoying an optional white-knuckle ride on the Class I and Class II rapids of the Rio Savegre. If you’re not much of a thrill seeker, join the rest of the group to hike through the beautiful landscapes of Manuel Antonio National Park, spotting birds and wildlife as you go. Tonight, we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner together as the group prepares to depart tomorrow. (B,L,D)

      Today, your journey reaches its end, and we’ll journey 3 hours back to Juan Santamaria International Airport for your flight home.
