      A representative from Sherpa Expedition & Trekking will meet you at the airport and take you to our hotel in Thamel, the tourist hub of Kathmandu. The rest of the day you can wander around the shops and explore the area. There are many great cafes where you can sit back and relax. Your guide will give you a brief introduction and provide information about the trek.

      Day 2: Sightseeing In Kathmandu And Trek Preparation

      Today we head off sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley with our guide. We will visit Pashupatinath, which is considered as the holiest Hindu temple in Nepal and where pilgrims worship Lord Shiva (situated on the banks of the holy Bagmati River), Bouddhanath, a Buddhist temple known as โ€˜Little Tibetโ€™ and then head to Swayambhunath known as the Monkey Temple. We will then drive to Kathmanduโ€™s famous Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed site, and located in front of the old royal palace. After arriving back at your hotel you may have time to do some last-minute shopping around Thamel for things you may need on your trek.

      This morning after breakfast we head by jeep to Besisahar and then continue on to Chame. The drive will give you an chance to take in the local scenery and get a feel for what lies ahead on the trek.

      This morning we head by jeep to Dharapani allowing us to admire the changing countryside.

      This morning we head to Chame and on arrival have some spectacular close-up views of Annapurna II, and Mt. Lamjung. We will stay overnight here at a teahouse.

      This morning we head out on the trail and pass through Telekhu and along the trail have some incredible views of Annapurna and Pisang (6091m). We then cross to the south bank of the Marsyangdi River and head higher through a pine forest as we follow the trail through the upper reaches of the Manang Valley to Pisang. At the higher side of Pisang village, we can see Pisang and Chulu peaks. We will stay overnight at Pisang.

      This morning on the trail we pass a Mani wall and cross a swing bridge before having to climb higher until we come to Ghyaru Village (3700m). From here we can see Annapurna II, III and IV. Typical of many villages in the Manang district the homes are made of stone and have flat roofs. We then head downhill around 500 meters until we reach the much larger village of Ngawal where we stay overnight.

      Today we head off on the trail along and can see goats and yak grazing the sparsely vegetated hillsides. Tonight we will sleep in a tent at Yak Kharka.  

  • Day 9 Day 9: Trek To Chulu Far East Base Camp (4,700M) Duration 4-5 Hours.

      We have another five hour day ahead of us as we slowly trek higher to the base camp where we will stay in a tent overnight.

      As we head to higher elevations today you will see down to the Annapurna Valley, Chulu East, West, and Chulu Far East. The stunning Pisang Peak is also visible. Tonight we camp next to a small lake at High Camp.

  • Day 11 Day 11: Summit Chulu Far East Peak (6059M) & Descend To Base Camp Duration 8-9 Hours.

      This is definitely the highlight of the trek and is guaranteed to be an awesome day as we ascend to the peak. An early start is essential so that we arrive at the summit around lunchtime. The climb up the ridge to the top will provide some truly unbelievable views. The feeling of being on top of the world will have the adrenalin pumping and the camera at full speed!  After admiring the views we will head back to Ngawal for the night for a well-earned sleep.

      From the Base Camp, we follow the trail to Manang passing Julu Khola and through a forest. It is a gorgeous village located just below Thorong La Pass. Manang is home to various ethnic groups, such as Ghale, Gurung, and Lama. We will stay overnight here at a teahouse.

  • Day 13 Day 13: Trek To Yak Kharaka (4,090M) Duration 4- 5 Hours.

      This morning we retrace our footsteps to Yak Kharka from where you will have views of several snow-covered peaks, such as Tukuche, Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri. We will stay here overnight in a tent.

      This morning we leave Yak Kharka and gradually head higher to Thorong High Camp. On arrival, we will set up camp for the night.

  • Day 15 Day 15: Trek To Muktinath (3,800 M) Via Thorong La Pass (5,416 M) Duration 8-9 Hours.

      Today is likely to the hardest day of the trek as we follow the trail for around 7 to 8 hours. The higher altitude adds to the degree of difficulty, and often strong winds in these upper regions. Along the trail, we may pass sheep, yaks, and merchants transporting their goods from Tibet. Once we reach Thorong La Pass we will have some truly breath-taking views of Annapurna, Gangapurna, the eye-catching peak of Khatungkang (6484m), and Dhaulagiri (Dhavali Giri, meaning โ€œWhite Mountainโ€) being the highest mountain that is entirely in Nepal. We then descend around 1600 meters until we arrive at Muktinath where we stay the night.

      Leaving Muktinath we head to Jomsom where you can sit back, relax and taste the local apple-based liquor products from the region. We will stay overnight here at a lodge. 

  • Day 17 Day 17: Fly To Pokhara (850 Meters) & Transfer To Hotel.

      This morning we take a scenic flight to Pokhara and on arrival, we will be taken to our hotel near โ€œLakesideโ€. After lunch, you will have time to wander along the lakeside and maybe do some shopping along the street bordering the lake.

  • Day 18 Day 18: Drive Back To Kathmandu (1400 Meters) Duration 6-7 Hours.

      Today we head back on a 6 to 7-hour drive to Kathmandu with many warm memories of Nepal and its unique cultures and geography in the Himalayan Mountains. You will treasure these memories!

      Today is your departure day and a representative from Sherpa Expedition & Trekking will take you to the airport at least three hours prior to your departure. We hope that on your flight home you will begin planning your next adventure with us to this mountainous country.
