If you want to bring more luggage or ride a horse, you can hire an extra horse for US$100, for all the trek and the horse will carry a maximum of 20 kg โ€“ 40 pounds; including your sleeping bag. (Usually 1 horse between 2 persons is enough). However even with a personal horse, you will still need to bring and carry a day pack with essential items

  • Day 1 Day 1: Arriving To Cusco

      Day 1: Arriving To Cusco

      Upon arrival reception, assistance and transfer to the selected hotel; where you should take a short rest to adjust better to the altitude (11,000 ft a.s.l.)

      Afternoon Combined tour; visit the Koricancha (Temple of the Sun), Sacsayhuaman, Kenko, Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay. (B)

      Note: You are in charge of arriving to Cusco in the morning, by plane, train or Bus. Our Services start and finish in Cusco.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Sacred Valley: Pisac Ruins, Market, Ollantaytambo & Chinchero

      Day 2: Sacred Valley: Pisac Ruins, Market, Ollantaytambo & Chinchero

      Visit PISAC located right at the entrance to the Sacred Valley, the amazing Inca city that constitutes one of the most important Archaeological Parks in the region. Visit the fine temples, palaces and the well preserved and vast farming terraces; built even as far as the edge of precipices that still keep their straight sometimes vertical aqueducts; an imposing and unforgettable sight that also offers very beautiful landscapes.

      Visit PISAC the Colonial Village, where you will see the famous "Indian Market" and the handicrafts or "souvenirs" market, this is your chance to enjoy a blend of color, traditions and people, and bargain for exotic craftworks.

      After Lunch at Urubamba Village, tour to the oldest continuously inhabited dwellings in South America, where people are still living in the same houses and palaces as 500 years ago; the ancient Incan town of OLLANTAYTAMBO, with its very impressive constructions built with huge boulders and its ancient heritage that will leave us astonished. On the way back to Cusco visit Chinchero with its impressive colonial church, Incan remains and amazing landscapes around. (B,L)

      Note: The Pisac Market is everyday, on Tuesday, Thursdays and Sundays is bigger but more crowded; not so good for visiting the ruins in Pisac and Ollantaytambo and for photos

      CHOQUEQUIRAO TREK: You MUST be in good shape

  • Day 3 Day 3: Cusco - Cachora - Santa Rosa

      Day 3: Cusco - Cachora - Santa Rosa

      The night before your trek, you will get a trekking briefing with your tour guide. Early morning departure from Cusco. our private transportation will take us Driving - through the farmland of the Anta Plateau from where we will see the high Andean peaks of the Cordillera Vilcabamba (where we will be hiking the next 4 days) โ€“ in about 4 hours we arrive to the end of the road Capuliyoc; where we will meet the mule wranglers, pack the mules and horses, and start the hike, we can enjoy the first breathtaking view of the deep Apurimac Canyon, the majestic surrounding snow capped peaks (Padreyoc and Wayna Cachora), and a glimpse of Choquequirao far way on the mountain on the other side of the canyon. We hike downhill for about 4 hours until Playa Rosalina; after a short break we continue uphill for about 2 more hours until the first camp Santa Rosa at (2190 mts/7227 ft). (B,L,D)

  • Day 4 Day 4: Santa Rosa - Marampata - Choquequirao

      Day 4: Santa Rosa - Marampata - Choquequirao

      Early wake up, breakfast, and start of the hike. We continue ascending on a zigzag trail for about 2 hours until Marampata, we will pass by some sugar cane farms. Once we arrive at Marampata, you will be done with the difficult uphill portion, after a short break with amazing views of the mountains and the Apurimac Canyon we will continue on an almost flat trail for about 2 more hours until Choquequirao on the way will also be able to see some amazing steep parts of  Choquequirao,  orchids, among other flowers and probably some condors. Upon your arrival to the campsite, our porters will set you up in your tents. After lunch you will be able to explore the area and will see the sunset from the Incan site. The ancient city reveals itself as we spend 1/2 day exploring these stunning ruins. Choquequirao means "Cradle of Gold," and the site is thought to have been built by the son of Machupicchuโ€™s creator, to rival the more famous and accessible citadel. Here, terraces sweep out from the main plaza towards incredible vistas of the Cordillera Vilcabamba. Built as an elite city for ceremonial purposes, the residences, royal baths, halls, gardens and stairways pay tribute to the engineering genius and careful planning that typifies Incan architecture.   • Day 5 Day 5: Choquequirao - Chiquisca

      Day 5: Choquequirao - Chiquisca

      After a delicious breakfast and a final visit of more temples of Choquequirao we hike back to Maranpata. from where we will start the four hour steep, downhill hike to La Playa. Half way down we will have a break to enjoy some fruit farmed in the area. Finally we will reach La Playa for lunch. After Lunch we will hike for 2 more hours uphill until the ast camp; Chiquisca.   • Day 6 Day 6: Chiquisca - Capuliyoc - Cusco
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 6: Chiquisca - Capuliyoc - Cusco

      We begin our final part of the hike, ascending again out of the canyon and away from the Apurimac River and re-enter the mountain grasslands and the stunning Andean scenery. When we reach the viewpoint of Capuliyoc again where weโ€™ll say goodbye to our trail crew and make the return drive to Cusco. (B,L)

  • Day 7 Day 7: Cusco - Machupicchu
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 7: Cusco - Machupicchu

      Transfer to the Train Station to catch the train until, Aguas Calientes town, bus ride to Machupicchu (1/2 hour) and private guided visit (2 1/2 hours) of the "Holy City of the Incas", the highlight of any trip to South America. Overnight Aguas Calientes. (B)


      NOTE: Whenever it will be possible; to avoid the crowds and in the high season we will program this tour in the afternoon.

  • Day 8 Day 8: Machupicchu - Huaynapicchu - Cusco
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 8: Machupicchu - Huaynapicchu - Cusco

      On your own, early visit of Machupicchu; to spot the amazing sun rise and take the optional short hikes to Huaynapicchu Peak (2 hours) & the temple of the Moon, to the Sun gate (2 hours) or Montana Machupicchu (3 hours) and the Inca Bridge. Afternoon return to Ollantaytambo by train (1 1/2 hours) and transfer by bus to the hotel in Cusco. (1 1/2 hours). (B)


      NOTE: If you are interested in climbing to Huaynapicchu or Montana Machupicchu the entrance fees are Included but you have to let us know in advance, we must buy tickets ASAP, there is a short limit per day.
