Please be advised that if you need to return early from the trek due to reasons such as sickness, unfavorable weather conditions, personal issues, itinerary modifications, or any other unforeseen circumstances, the following conditions apply: - Any payments made for flights, hotel accommodations, mountain room bookings, meals, and related expenses are nonrefundable. - You will be required to cover the costs of hotel stays, meals, and other expenses in Kathmandu independently. Additionally, please note that during the months of March to May and September to November, all flights will depart from Ramechhap. It will be necessary for you to make a 4-5 hour drive from Kathmandu to Ramechhap in order to catch your flight. Kindly consider these terms and arrangements carefully before commencing your trek.       Our guide will meet you at the airport and transport you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free and will give you time to wander around the shopping areas closest to your hotel in Thamel. If you need anything for your trek, you will find it here in Thamel. In the evening your guide will provide valuable information about the trek.

      This morning you will be picked up from your hotel by our guide who will take you to the domestic terminal of Kathmandu airport.  The flight from Kathmandu to Lukla takes around 35 minutes, time enough to appreciate the spectacular views of the Himalayas. Your journey begins with an easy trek that passes a Kani (ceremonial gatehouse) before the trail descends and then leads above Kyangma Village with its large Gompa (monastery). We then head to Cheplung Village where the trail passes through a forest close to the Dudh Koshi River. After crossing the suspension bridge you climb up and across the ridge to Ghat Village and pass a school, Mani walls, Chortens and prayer wheels. Not far from here is Phakding.

      After breakfast we head off on the trail and cross several suspension bridges over the Dudh Kosi River before passing through Tok-Tok, Benkar, and Monjo villages and arrive at the Sagarmatha National Park entrance gate where you will be asked to show your trekking permit. We then follow along the river bed for a few hours and after crossing the last Hillary suspension bridge we have a steep uphill trek to Namche Bazaar. Namche has a good selection of restaurants, an internet cafรฉ, pubs, bakery, post office, ATM and banks.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Acclimatization Day At Namche Bazaar.

      This town is an ideal place to acclimatize.  Health specialists recommend we spend the day being active rather than sitting idle. From Namche Bazaar it is easy to take a short hike to Everest View Resort, Thame, visiting Khunde or take some time out to relax and explore Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is the main hub of the Everest (Khumbu) region and has government offices and a vibrant market each Friday evening and Saturday. Even a short trek of only a hundred meters will help us to properly acclimatize. Your guide will also take you to the Tourist Visitor Center near the headquarters of the Sagarmatha National Park where we can view: a range of relics connected to the first mountaineers to climb Everest, Sherpa culture and learn about the wide-ranging plant and animal life of this region. 

  • Day 5 Day 5: Namche Bazaar To Tengboche (3,870M) 5-6 Hours.

      The trail starts with a steep climb up from the valley floor passing through rhododendron, juniper and large conifer forests - with their fragrant aroma. The trail heads via Yak Kharka (meaning grazing pasture for yak) and various Sherpa villages. Throughout the trek you will experience some breathtaking views of Khumbu La Pass and Tengboche.

      Today we head downhill on a 3 to 4 hour trek along a trail through forests and then cross the Imja Khola (river) passing through the village of Pangboche, unforgettable for its fields surrounded by rock walls. Tonight we stay at Dingboche.

      Today we hit the trail at around 8.30 a.m. on an easy route up to Chhukung Village. From here you get an excellent view of Mt. Ama Dablam. The views from Chhukung, and later up the valley, of Island Peak are spectacular. Todayโ€™s trek is quite short, mostly downhill, before arriving at Dingboche where we stay overnight. This section of the trail is often exposed to strong winds.

      The trail today passes many Chortens (Tibetan shrines & tombs) takes around 1.5 hours before coming to the village of Thugla (4600m) where we will have lunch at its tea house. After lunch, we head in the direction of some soaring peaks, such as Mt Pumori (7161m) and Mt. Nuptse (7861m) before arriving at Lobuche Village (4940m). We then follow the trail through an expansive valley before coming to Thukla - just after passing by the Pheriche Aid Post at Pheriche (4371m). The aid post is only manned during the peak trekking seasons. We then head down to the yak pastures of the small settlement of Lobuche.

      Today we have a two-hour trek to Gorakshep. The trail starts out to be quite easy but increasingly becomes more difficult. Along the trail, we have some amazing views of several massive peaks, such as Everest, Nuptse, and others. The trail continues for about 150 meters before we have to cross a moraine after which it gets easier before we come to Gorakshep, one on the worldโ€™s most remote and highest settlements. After a lunch break, we trek toward EBC following a trail beside the Khumbu Glacier. The trek around the glacier takes around 1.5 hours and then we will arrive at EBC (5360m). At base camp, you will meet other climbers and can share stories. From EBC there are views of the Khumbu Glacier with its scary and hazardous crevices. We then head back to Gorakshep - a trek of about 6 to 7 hours.

      Today we will head to Kala Patthar in the early morning. You will have time to watch in amazement at the sunrise on the impressive Himalayan ranges, taking in the unique views. We will then return to Lobuche and then two hours later will reach Dzongla which is the only place where we can spend the night. 

  • Day 11 Day 11: Cross The Chola Pass (5,420M) And Trek Down To Tagnag (4,600M) 7-9 Hours.

      An early morning starts we head from Dzongla to Cho La Pass. The trek across the glacier is a pleasant experience if there is not too much snow, which can otherwise make it impossible to cross. From the pass, we head down to Tagnag Village for an overnight stay at a teahouse.

      We should reach Gokyo in about 4 to 5 hours just in time to enjoy a lunch break here. We will enjoy the rest of the exploring the Gokyo Valley. We may also decide to visit the glaciers and turquoise lakes of the Gokyo Valley. We will also have some amazing views of Mount Everest, Cho Oyu, Lhotse Makalu and other massive snow clad peaks.

      We have a tough day ahead of us as we climb to the summit of Gokyo-RI. It will be hard-going, but once at the top you will have some unbelievable views back down over the Gokyo Valley, the Ngozumpa Glacier, and a panoramic view of the Khumbu Himalayan glistening snow-covered peaks. We will then descend to Dole.

      Today we head out on the trail from Dole to Namche Bazaar that should take about six hours. Along the trail we will come to Khumjung Village at the base of Mount Ama Dablam. The trail continues until we come to Namche Bazaar where we will stay the night.

  • Day 15 Day 15: Namche Bazaar To Lukla (2,860M) 6-7 Hours.

      It is a long day with a 7 hour trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla, which is mostly downhill with several sections of level ground. There are patches of rock-strewn ground to cross that will require you watch your footing. We leave the Sagarmatha National Park and will then arrive at Lukla where we stay overnight.

  • Day 16 Day 16: Fly Back To Kathmandu (1,350M) 35 Minutes.

      Today you can look back at the mountains as we head back to Kathmandu on a 35 minutes scenic flight. After arriving at Kathmandu we will take you back to your hotels in or near Thamel.

      A representative from Sherpa Expedition and Trekking will take you to the airport around 3 hours before departure. This is only โ€˜farewellโ€™ until we see you again for your next adventure into the Himalaya region.
