  • Day 1 Arrival Cusco: Cusco Airport- Hotel

      Upon your arrival at the airport in Cusco, a representative of Vidal Expeditions will be waiting for you at the airport to say welcome to Cusco City. He will take you to our partner hotel located in the charming historic district of Cusco.

      This day you will take it easy and rest to acclimatize to the altitude. Cusco is located above 3,360 meters (11,030 feet).

      Around 6:00 p.m., you will meet with your adventure tour guide, who will provide you with all the details about your adventure tours on the following days.

  • Day 2 Moray, Salt Mines, Ollantaytambo

      Today your guide will pick you up from your hotel at 8:00am and drive for about 1:20 hours to Moray archeological site, a facinating display of Inca terraces where you will learn about the farming techniques in ancient times and visit the incredible cercular terraces, which have been carved deep into the earth in a bowl shape, with varied temperatures that help to grow the crops in different conditions.

      Later, you will drive to explore the most stunning salt pools in Maras, a former salt-producing center used by the Incas hundreds of years ago.

      Nowadays, you can find more than 3,000 salt pools, all located on the slope of the mountainside, being filled daily by a little stream of water.

      Once you have done exploring these salt mines, we will head to Urubamba to enjoy our local buffet lunch. After this, we will continue our drive to Ollantaytambo, the last Inca living town in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Youโ€™ll explore the incredible Inca temples located at the mountain site. Later in the afternoon, we will reach our hotel in Ollantaytambo.

  • Day 3 Cusco - Santa Maria (Biking & Rafting)

      We embark on an incredible adventure in the Peruvian Andes. From pick-up in Ollantaytambo, drive for 1 hour to the Pass of Malaga, 4,316 meters (14,160 feet above sea level). where we will start our cycling down to the rain forest valley, passing incredible landscapes surrounded by picturesque villages on the way until we reach Huamanmarca. From here, we continue our journey by bus towards Santa Maria town, where our delicious lunch awaits us.

      In the afternoon, we will join the whitewater rafting trip for the next two hours with some rapids in class III+, always with our safety rafting gear and the most professional rafting instructors.

      We will spend the first night at Santa Maria Town Lodge.

  • Day 4 Santa Maria - Santa Teresa (Hiking)

      Today is the most beautiful day of this trip. We wake up in the middle of the high jungle and enjoy a great natural breakfast. Then, we start our hike by following the valley along the banks of the river. During this hike, we will observe different jungle fruits, bananas, oranges, avocados, and a few fields of coca. You will also be able to see coffee farms. Afterwards, we climb up to reach the Inca Trail, which connected with Machu Picchu in ancient times. During the short breaks on the way, you will make your own coffee and taste how amazing it is.

      At the highest point, youโ€™ll have stunning views of the valley, see how the Urubamba River runs towards the Amazon, have some Inca history there, and weโ€™ll start descending to Qellomayo to enjoy our incredible lunch.

      After a short rest, we continue hiking for about 3 hours to reach Cocalmayu hot springs, where you will relax after a long day of hiking. Finally, we hike to Santa Teresa to enjoy our dinner and spend the night.

  • Day 5 Santa Teresa - Hidroelectrica - Aguas Calientes (Zipline & Hiking)

      The day on which we approach Machu Picchu! We wake up around 7 a.m.Have breakfast and be ready to have fun along the zipline. The instructor will come to pick us up and drive us to the base camp, where you will get all the gear and the safety speech.

      Enjoy flying over the valley with stunning views. Once you are done with this fun activity, we board our bus towards Hydroelectric. Enjoy the lunch, and after a short rest, we hike beside the railway to Aguas Calientes. On this segment of the hike, youโ€™ll appreciate different landscapes, including Machu Picchu and Wayna Picchu at the top of the mountain, and see the incredible biodiversity of flora and fauna.

      Around 4 p.m., we will arrive in Aguas Clientes. Your guide will accommodate you at the hotel, where you can rest or explore the town.

      Have dinner in the evening, and your guide will provide you with all the details for the next day in Machu Picchu.

  • Day 6 Machu Picchu - Cusco

      Machu Picchu - Cusco

      This is the most important day of this trip; finally, our dream of knowing Machu Picchu will come true.

      Your guide will pick you up at 6:00am from your hotel and walk for a few minutes to the bus station, board the bus, and drive around 25 minutes to reach the main checking point of Machu Picchu.

      We hike up to the best spot to capture and enjoy the breathtaking views of Machu Picchu before the crowds arrive. Your guide will show you the important temples and tell you the history of the Incas, and then youโ€™ll keep exploring on your own.

      Once you have done with Machu Picchu, you will board the bus down to Aguas Calientes, have some time for your lunch, then board the train to Ollantaytambo, followed by a bus drive to Cusco.

      Take it easy today and explore the beauty of Cusco. You can opt for a free walking tour around the city center or walk by yourself, visiting some local markets or shops in Cusco.

      In the afternoon, our transfer will drive you to the airport in Cusco, where you will take your flight back home.
