      Day 2: Exploring Kathmandu Valley

So it is your day 2 in Nepal as well as your first active day of the tour. Now, what better way to start off the journey than visiting the famous Kathmandu Valley? This culturally significant piece of hill resides in the western region of Kathmandu city. Kathmandu Valley can best be described as the musical wonder consisting of both natural enrichments and mythical ancient structures. This is a goldmine of tourist attractions. Thus we will start from the Kathmandu Valley and end up with the destinations nearby if not in the territory of the valley itself.

Moreover, today we will be focusing on three of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Nepal, which will include:

Kathmandu Durbar Square โ€“ We start at Kathmandu Durbar Square, where the kings of Nepal were enthroned for centuries. Kathmandu Durbar Square the legendary royal palace is the home of the famous Kumari, the living goddess which you may have an opportunity to see. Along with that you will find approximately, 60 temples here. Yes, sheโ€™s real, and she comes out to bless the people at certain times of each day. Most of the temples here date back several hundred years, and therefore, the temples are protected as national heritage sites.

Swayambhunath Stupa โ€“ Upon visiting Kathmandu Durbar Square next, we will pay a visit to Swayambhu (also known as Monkey Temple). It is probably the most heavenly place in the Kathmandu Valley, and it is also the most antiquated holy site. Situated on a prominence overlooking the Kathmandu Valley, Swayambhu is over 2500 years old. Despite being mostly a Buddhist holy place, it is also a unique synergy of Buddhism and Hinduism, as you will only find in Nepal.

Bhaktapur โ€“ In the afternoon, we will travel by private vehicle to the next UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city of Bhaktapur. Located in the east corner of Kathmandu Valley, Bhaktapur is also known as the City of Devotees. This site can fairly be described as a city suspended in ancient times. Not only the temples, residential houses, and the architectural intricacy but also the lifestyle of the inhabitants are quite traditional and transudes the very essence of ancient Nepali religious culture. It holds its own Durbar Square with the renowned 55 windows Royal Palace. Each window is masterfully carved. There are mainly two temple areas to explore, which includes the tallest temple in the Kathmandu Valley. There are also narrow alleyways to walk where you see craftsmen doing crafts and pottery as they have done for centuries.

In the evening, you will return to your hotel for the night and prepare your luggage for next day departure.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Travel To Pokhara
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 3: Travel To Pokhara

Now on the 3rd day, our journey will begin the drive-by luxury bus from Kathmandu to Pokhara. And we tell you what; itโ€™ll be a drive to remember. One of the best highlights of this journey is the Trisuli river valley. Now you must know that the Thrishuli River puts for a beautiful destination to get an Ultimate River rafting and fishing experience from the banks.

On your way to Pokhara, you will cross the Mugling, which is one of the busiest highways of Nepal. Surely, you will be amazed upon watching such majestic picturesque beauty of the valleys and mountains. Next, upon reaching Pokhara, you will find that the place is full of creeks and pools. Located in the southern region of the valley, Phewa Lake is one of the most magnificent lakes you will ever have the privilege to gaze at. We finally arrive after a 5 to 6-hours trek to Ghorepani, where we stop for the night. This place was once on the main salt route to Tibet. And it also used to be a stop for the merchants, hundreds of merchants used to stop here, let their horses have water, and get ready for the journey ahead. Moreover, the sparkling white snow will be the cherry on top. After experiencing the sunrise, we will return to our tea house in Ghorepani to have breakfast and collect our belongings.
