This tour includes:

Transport

Airport pick up and drop by private car. Kathmandu to Dhunche and Melamchi to Kathmandu transportation by Bus.

Accommodation

Standard twin-sharing accommodation in a three-star hotel in Kathmandu including breakfast (2 nights only) Guesthouse accommodation during the trek in mostly twin-share and occasionally dormitory-style rooms.

A highly experienced, helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, well-English-speaking well-trained, Government license registered trekking guide with all his Salary, Food, Drinks, Accommodation, Transport, and Insurance.

Langtang National Park permits and TIMS permit for trekking Oximeter to check your pulse and oxygen saturation and heart rate twice daily (Very useful to check Altitude Mountain Sickness(AMS) symptoms) Which will ensure you trek is in the safest hands possible for all levels of trekker. Assistant guide group size above 8+ people. Government taxes and office expenses. Down jacket and sleeping bag by Sherpa Expedition Teams (which need to be returned after the trek)

  • Day 1 Day 1: Arrival In Kathmandu (1,350M) & Transfer To Hotel.

      On arrival at Kathmandu Airport, you will be met by our representative and taken to your hotel which will be followed by a short briefing regarding your trek. This will be an ideal time to meet your trekking guide. Your hotel is in Thamel, the tourist hub of Kathmandu city.

      Today we head on a road trip from Kathmandu to Langtang Valley. As the road climbs out of Kathmandu Valley you will start to have amazing views of the Annapurna Mountains, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and other snow-covered mountains in the Langtang region. We will first drive to Trishuli Village and then to Dhunche Village where we officially enter the Langtang National Park. After leaving Dhunche we drive for another hour until we arrive at Syabrubesi where we stay the night.

      Today we cross the Bhote Kosi (meaning Tibet River) which flows down from Tibet. The trail then steadily climbs through sub-tropical forests to connect with the trail from Syabrubesi, then higher through oak and rhododendron forests. We will be on the lookout for Langur monkeys in the tree tops. The trail continues up through the forest to Lama Hotel where we will stay the night.

      This morning we climb up through forest on the first part of todayโ€™s trek and we will have views of Langtang Lirung from gaps within the trees. At Ghora Tabela (3,000m) we come out from the forest and arrive at a Nepali army outpost. The trail then heads through several smaller settlements inhabited by herders who come here to graze their animals, including Yak, during the summer months. We then come to Langtang Village, which has mostly been rebuilt in a more modern style of architecture since the 2015 earthquake devastated this region.

      We have an easy trek today that takes about 3 hours but slowly gains altitude which requires taking it at a slower pace. The trail is quite easy which gives you more time to absorb the valley and mountain scenery. We will reach Kyanjin Gompa in the afternoon and may then to trek to Kyanjin Ri (4779m) before returning back to our hotel for the night.

      Today is a day to rest and explore the surrounding area. We will visit the monastery and the cheese factory, walk up the moraine to see the impressive ice faces and ascend at Chorkari RI (5050 meters) which is highest point of this trek for a breath-taking panorama of the Langtang peak.

      Today we retrace our footsteps back down the valley alongside the Langtang Khola (river) to Mundu Village and then to the village of Ghora Tabela. The descent will be a lot quicker than the ascent. After lunch we continue the steep descent to Lama Hotel.

      The first village we come to today is Bamboo and then head uphill on the final part of the trek to Thulo Syabru Village. Thulo Syabru is a Tamang settlement in the Langtang region. We will have time to wander around the village and sample some of the local cuisine.

      Today we climb up to Dimsa village and through rhododendron, hemlock and oak forests to Shin Gumba. On the trail you will have fantastic views of Langtang Himal and Langtang valley. Shin Gompa is well known for its cheese production.

      Today is a hard day on the trail as we ascend to Lake Gosainkunda. The higher altitude makes the going much tougher than at lower altitudes. You will feel more tired because we are gaining altitude and the lack of oxygen. Once we reach Lauri Binayak Pass (4610m) we will have views of some massive peaks, such as Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal and the Annapurna Massif. From Gosainkunda, we have some fantastic views of the lakes.

      Today the trail takes us around two to three hours until we come to Gosainkunda Pass (4610m). This is a fantastic camera opportunity where you will have astonishing mountain views and also views down on the Helambu trail. The trail from here is narrow and rocky and requires a degree of caution as we get closer to Ghopte. An Australian trekker was lost here in 1991 and was not found for 43 days.

      Today you will pass through a forested area and along a dry riverbed and past a rhododendron forest to the village of Tharepati. Above the village, you have a wonderful view of the Jugal area. We then head down to the Melamchi River and then up to Malemchigaon.

      Today we enter the Helambu Region and head up to the Sherpa village of Tarkeghyang with its monastery and stone houses.

      This morning we pass through a forest and then skirt around the valley between Parachin and the Sherpa village of Gangyul. The people here practice Drukpa Kagyu Buddhism, the same religion practiced in Bhutan.

      Today we have a short trek down to the Sherpa village of Melamchi Pul Bazaar and then travel by road back to Kathmandu. You have now completed your amazing trek to this distant region of Nepal.

      Approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight a representative from the Sherpa Expedition Teams will take you to the airport. On your trip home you may be considering another adventure into the Himalayan Mountains of Nepal. We are always available to offer you advice.
