2 nightsโ€™ standard accommodation in 3-star hotel in Kathmandu on a twin sharing basis including 2 breakfasts. (A single room can be arranged upon payment of extra price USD 35 per night) Twin sharing Teahouse/lodges accommodation during the trek.

  • Day 1 Day 1: Arrival In Kathmandu (1,350M) & Transfer To Hotel.

      Upon arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be met by a Sherpa Expedition & Trekking representative, and taken to your hotel. After checking in at the hotel, you will be briefed on what to expect on your Mardi Himal trekking adventure.


  • Day 2 Day 2: Drive From Kathmandu To Pokhara (8,50M) 6-7 Hours.

      Our journey begins with a 6 to 7-hour drive to Pokhara Valley and its stunning Phewa Tal (lake) and then checking in to your hotel close to Phewa Tal. There is plenty to see and do along Lakeside with many shops, bars, and restaurants. (Option: fly to Pokhara on a 30 minute scenic flight)

  • Day 3 Day 3: Drive To Kande & Trek To Pothana (1,890M) 4-5 Hours.

      Today we have a one hour drive from Pokhara to Kande with glorious views of mountains along the way. From Kande we follow the trail for one hour to Australian camp a pretty area also known as Thulo Kharka, a grazing pasture land with amazing panoramic views of the Annapurna range of mountains including: Dhaulagiri, Mardi Himal and Manaslu peaks including the iconic Machapuchare โ€˜Fish Tailโ€™. We then head downhill to the small village of Pothana from where we have excellent views of snow-clad peaks in the midst of alpine forests.

      Today we head to Deurali along a ridge and into some dense forest where it is much cooler. We once again are rewarded on the trail with some great views of Annapurna I and South with Hiunchuli including Annapurna II & IV and Lamjung Himal. We then come to Forest Camp situated in the middle of the woods where we will stay overnight.

      Today you will notice the change in vegetation with more cloud and moisture with the trees covered in moss and lichen, with orchids clinging to the trees. It is cooler here and has a more jungle feel. Occasionally you can catch a peek through the trees of the snow-covered mountains, such as Mt. Machapuchare, Mardi Himal, and the Annapurna Ranges.

      After an early breakfast, we head out on the trail to the highest point on this trek where you will have to get accustomed to trekking at this higher altitude. The magnificent peaks look close enough to reach and out and touch them. The massive face of the mountain highlights the sheer size of Mardi Himal (5587m). We will go a little higher during the day to better appreciate these peaks before heading back to High Camp for the night.

  • Day 7 Day 7: Hike Up To Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500M) 5-6 Hours.

      With a day to spare we will head to Mardi Himal along a ridge to reach the highest point of this trek at 4,500 meters. The trail takes us to a ridge directly at the base of Mardi Himal southwest Face with majestic views of Mt. Machapuchare that soars into the blue sky. Mardi Himal is also referred to as โ€™The Other Sanctuaryโ€™ named by early explorer Mr. Jimmy Roberts when he first ventured the area in the late 1970s. After a good time at Mardi Himal Base Camp with its superb mountain views, we return on the same trail back to High Camp for the night.

  • Day 8 Day 8: Trek From Mardi Himal High Camp To Sidding (1,280M) 5-6 Hours.

      The trail today takes us into forested areas full of rhododendron and pines trees as we head back to Low Camp. The trail is mostly downhill to Siding Village, the crossroad of the east and west routes to Mardi Himal, where we will stay overnight.

  • Day 9 Day 9: Trek To Lwang And Drive To Pokhara (8,50M) 5-6 Hours.

      Today is our last day on this magical adventure into this less visited area in the Annapurna region. We will follow the Mardi River through a wide valley steadily heading lower while passing terraced farmland. From Lwang we will drive back to Pokhara.

      Today we go by road or fly back to Kathmandu. Tonight may be your last night in Nepal to enjoy our hospitality. You will have a fun night and dinner with us before you leave Nepal. You will take some vivid memories of you time in Nepal with you!

      Today Sherpa Expedition & Trekking will say farewell to you at the airport. We know that you have had a great time on your Mardi Himal trek and will take with you some wonderful memories โ€“ and maybe consider returning for another adventure into the Himalayas. We will make sure you are at the airport at least three hours prior to your departure.
