Angkor Wat is the largest religious building on earth. The enormous temple complex, in the middle of the tropical jungle, was the center of the Khmer high culture from the 9th to the 15th century. In its heyday, 1 million people lived there, more than in any city in Europe at the time.... In the morning you will explore the "wonder of the world" Angkor Wat, which was built in a 40-year construction period by countless master builders and sculptors by order of the most important Khmer king Siriyavaram. In the afternoon you will visit the South Gate of Angkor Thom with the famous Bayon complex, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. The day is rounded off with a visit to the famous jungle temple of Ta Phrom. Return to the hotel stopping for a foot massage.

On the way back, you will visit the local village of Prak Dak in the afternoon, where you will be demonstrated the production of palm sugar . To end the day, enjoy an unforgettable sunset at the Srah Srang water reservoir and marvel at how the temple complex of Angkor Wat is reflected on the water surface with the setting sun.

Day 5: Experience The Evening Bat Spectacle In Battambang (B)

Today you will continue to Battambang with its still very well preserved French colonial buildings. Cambodia’s second largest city is still off the beaten track. After check-in, you will visit Phare Ponleu Selpak, an institution for disadvantaged youth. You will see young artists at work and attend a traditional circus show***. Then drive to Phnom Sampeau and visit the Killing Caves. At dusk, watch the swarming of thousands of bats before returning to Battambang.

Day 6: Ride The "Bamboo Train" And Continue To Phnom Penh (B)

This morning you will take a ride on the "Bamboo Train". Afterwards, you will leave Battambang and drive to the old capital of Oudong. A traditional ox cart will pick you up for a ride through rice fields and past farms. Climbing steps, you will reach the top of Oudong Mountain, from where you will enjoy an unforgettable view of the surrounding area. Your guide will tell you many interesting facts about the landscape, architecture and culture of the area. In the afternoon, you will continue your journey to Phnom Penh. On the way you will stop at Koh Chen - better known as the "Silver Village". The village got its name from the handicraft of silver. From here it is not far to the capital.

The day ends with a one-hour boat ride on the Mekong River during sunset.
