Day 1: From Buenos Aires To The Iberรก Marshlands

In the morning, a private transfer will take you from your hotel to Buenos Aires Domestic Airport to catch a direct flight to Posadas city (2hs approx.), in the Northeast of Argentina. On arrival, you will meet the guide and take an air taxi from Posadaโ€™s Airport to the Estancia Rincรณn del Socorro on the Iberรก Marshlands (1-hour long).

(Note: another option is to take a 4x4, which takes between 5 and 7 hours depending on the weather conditions, itโ€™s a gravel road).

The local hosts will welcome you and will explain you about The Conservation Land Trust Organization. It was founded in 2001 by conservation philanthropist Douglas Tompkins to create a 74,130-acre nature reserve. With the acquisition of Socorro and other fields within Ibera, CLTโ€™s objectives were both simple and ambitious: to create Argentinaโ€™s largest nature park, restore locally extirpated wildlife species, and promote an economy based on ecotourism. They have initiated the largest rewilding program in America: giant anteaters, pampas deer, tapirs, and collared peccaries have been released.

Lunch will be prepared with organic vegetables from the orchard, you will taste typical recipes from Corrientes province along with Argentine and international dishes.

For the rest of the day, depending on the schedule, you might participate on any of the activities. Dinner included.
