Day 1: Your Adventure In Argentina, Starts In Buenos Aires

      Welcome to Argentina!

Upon your arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel and have the rest of the day to enjoy at your own pace.

Buenos Aires is a marvelous and furious cosmopolitan city, full of colors and different kinds of architecture. Capital of Argentina and described as the Paris of South America, Buenos Aires proudly embraces this title, as well as showing off plenty of its own culture!

Argentines are usually eager to host visitors: if you walk the streets with a map, someone will surely stop and ask if you need directions. Thatโ€™s our spirit! So, for this first day, feel free to wander the cobblestone streets lined with outdoor cafes, enjoy the mouthwatering aroma of prized Argentine beef sizzling on an open โ€œparrillaโ€ (barbecue) and browse the local antique and artisan markets that offer plenty of bargain shopping. And to travel deeper and have a firm grip of the Argentine spirit, find the perfect leather jacket or handbag (Buenos Aires is home to some excellent local designers) and explore the colorful Palermo Soho neighborhoods.

We will stay in Puerto Piramides two hours for lunch time. After lunch you will visit the sea lion colony of Punta Piramides. After that, we continue to Punta Cantor in Caleta Valdรฉs (Valdรฉs Inlet).

We are shown geological formations there and elephant seals. Then we go back to the Ameghino Isthmus, with its interesting interpretation centre. On the way we have good chances of coming across wild land fauna such as guanacos, rheas, foxes, maras (Patagonian hare), armadillos and, skunks.

Finally, we return to the city of Puerto Madryn at sunset.

      Whales Watching navigation

The whale watching navigation departs from Piramides Port. The whale watching trip starts going along the coast in both directions and then getting one or two miles into the sea, to get in touch with the Southern Right Whales.

The first stop is generally at La Loberรญa (sea lion colony). The sailing along the coast allows one to also watch many cormorant colonies. They build their nests against the cliff and there they also breed and raise their babies. You can also observe other specimens of the coastal bird fauna.

We will continue our navigation to meet the whales. Once we meet them, magic will start. The boat will stop the engines and silence will begin to reign, interrupted only by the sounds of the sea and the occasional bird. In this scenario, the whales will appear next to the boat and we will manage to live together in harmony in the same space for as long as they decide. It will be a unique moment where, if we are lucky, we will be able to see them very close to us.

The estimated sailing time will be 1:30 hs depending on the time of year, weather conditions and the number of animals in the area.

In order to get close to the whales, the "Patagonian Technique" will be used, which allows specialists to navigate and live with them. We will be able to see how the whales pass underneath the boat and approach at impressive distances. Whale watching is completely safe for two reasons: these mammals are extremely peaceful, and the boats have the appropriate safety equipment.

After the navigation, we will return to the pier.

Day 10: Perito Moreno Glacier Tour

We will pick you up from your hotel early in the morning to take you to Los Glaciares National Park located at 50 miles from El Calafate, home of the magnificent Perito Moreno Glacier.

Los Glaciares National Park has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981 when its almost 200 glaciers were discovered. Half of the park is occupied by the Patagonian ice field, the second largest ice field after Antarctica.

Upon arrival to the National Park, your guide will show you the different walkways from where you will be able to walk in front of the colossal ice wall, and, if you are lucky, perhaps see some landslides.

When the ice breaks and falls, the world holds its breath: all other sounds stop at the earthโ€™s surface.

You will start the adventure from the main balcony and then, have some free time to wander freely until the meeting time agreed with your guide. For lunchtime, the National Park offers a service area with a restaurant and a snack bar (lunch is not included).

Reaching the Icebergs Channel, the boat will stop at a safe distance from the glacier to continue to sail down its front, allowing for spectacular views of the ice wall and any breaking and floating icebergs.

This excursion lasts approximately one hour and provides a totally different perspective of the Perito Moreno glacier, with almost constant falling walls of ice from its front. That is what makes this option the best complement for the conventional visit to the walkways.

      Day 20: Buenos Aires

Day at leisure in Buenos Aires. Our suggestion is to explore the Pampas, with a visit to a working ranch in San Antonio de Areco, El Ombu, about 1h45 minutes from Buenos Aires. This quaint town is considered "the birthplace" of the gauchos, the Argentine cowboys.

This is not included in your program, but weโ€™d be happy to quote this for you, just let us know!
