Your English-speaking guide will wait for you at the airport when you arrive in Lima and take you to your hotel. After the check-in, your guided city tour will start at San Martin Plaza and Plaza de Armas. Both squares are popular places for local residents to relax and have fun. You will not miss the Monastery of San Francisco to the northeast of Plaza de Armas, famous for the catacomb housing many skeletons. Finally, you will go to the Larco Museum to appreciate precious pottery and golden crafts.

Fly To Puerto Maldonado & Boat Ride To Amazon Jungle

After breakfast, you will be escorted to the airport for your flight to Puerto Maldonado. Upon landing after around 1.5 hours, you will meet your local driver at the airport and be escorted to the pier, where your Amazon jungle tour guide will accompany you to take a boat to your lodge, which takes around 45 minutes. You will have lunch in the lodge.

After lunch, you will enjoy the afternoon on a jungle exploration. You will dive deep into the sea of green and if you are lucky, you can have a chance to see toucans and Macaws flying between the trees. After the exploration, you will be taken back to your lodge to have a rest. Before dinner, you could go outside looking for some caimans on the river bank.

Day 3 Boat Trip To Tambopata National Reserve

Boat Trip To Tambopata National Reserve

Early in the morning, you will be accompanied to hike to the famous Parrot Clay-lick to admire different kinds of parrots. This large piece of clay is formed by the erosion of the river, and every morning countless parrots come to lick the clay for food. Then you will return to your lodge for breakfast. You will enjoy a break after breakfast and then be escorted to take a boat along the Madre de Dios River to the Tambopata National Reserve in search of exotic wildlife. Afterward, the boat will take you to Sandoval Lake to watch various birds and monkeys, such as Hoatzins, Cormorants, Squirrel Monkeys, and Capuchin monkeys. You could see some nocturnal animals on our way back to the lodge after appreciating sunset. After dinner, you could enjoy a free time on lying in a hammock in the yard and appreciating the starry sky.

After breakfast, you will go back to Puerto Maldonado first by boat. Then your driver will take you to the airport where you can take a 50-minute flight to Cusco. When you arrive, your local tour guide and driver will transfer you to your hotel. In the afternoon, you will visit the city’s main square, Plaza de Armas and Qorikancha. The last stop today is Sacsayhuaman. You can visit spectacular buildings made up of thousands of huge stones of hundreds of tons.

Today, you will be escorted to Chinchero. On arrival, you will be guided to visit Inca Walls, Colonial Church, and a textile center to learn how to weave. Afterward, you will watch Moray terraces and amazing Maras Salt Mines. After the visit, you will continue to Ollantaytambo, where you can have lunch on your own. In the afternoon, you will be escorted to the train station to take the train to Aguas Calientes, the town of Machu Picchu. When you arrive, the hotel staff will pick you up and accompany you to walk to your hotel which is close by.

Machu Picchu Hiking

In the morning, your guide will accompany you to walk to the nearby bus station to take a 30-minute bus ride to Machu Picchu. After about 2 hours’ guided sightseeing, your tour guide will show you the way to Huayna Picchu Peak and see goodbye to you. You will then hike to the peak by yourself to watch the breathtaking scenery of Machu Picchu from a bird’s eye view. Then go down to the bus station, take the bus to Aguas Calientes and walk to your hotel. Your guide will also inform you of the bus station beforehand.

Day 7 Back To Ollantaytambo By Train & Pisac Sightseeing

Back To Ollantaytambo By Train & Pisac Sightseeing

In the morning, you will go to the train station by yourself to take a train to Ollantaytambo. On arrival, your guide and driver will meet you up and take to visit Pisac. Firstly, you will visit Pisac Archaeological Park, where you can admire the terrace in the distance and scene of Sacred Valley. Later, you will tour around in a local market. The market here is famous for retaining many of the traditional features of natives. After the tour, you will return to Cusco. On the way, you will visit Awanacancha, the weaving center. Also, there are high chances of seeing alpaca, llama, and guanaco.

Day 8 Bus Tour To Puno

Bus Tour To Puno

Your tour guide and driver will take you to the bus terminal and you will take a 10-hour shared bus ride to Puno. During the bus ride, you will first make a stop at the San Pedro Chapel, a Catholic and Andean styles church. Then you will continue by bus to Raqchi to visit the Inca Temple, which commemorates Wiracocha, the creator in Inca mythology. Have a buffet lunch at the Sicuani town.

The midpoint of this bus tour is La Raya, where you can look into the snow mountain, and you may see the llamas group and the alpacas group. The last stopover of the bus ride is Pucara for you to watch the Inca cultural heritage. Upon arrival in Puno, your local guide and driver will meet you at the bus station and take you to your hotel.

Afterward, you will take a motorboat for 3 hours more to visit Taquile Island and have a simple lunch there. After the visits, you will return by boat and drop you off at your hotel.
