A three-star hotel should have comfortable, simple, and clean rooms that have a private bathroom with hot water. • Day 1 Day 1: Cusco The Navel Of Tahuantinsuyo
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 1: Cusco The Navel Of Tahuantinsuyo

In the morning we go out to tour the city of Cusco, center of the Inca empire, considered Cultural Heritage of Humanity. We will visit the Plaza de Armas and the Cusco Cathedral that has different art galleries. Cusco still retains its Inca walls and stone-floored streets that blend with colonial architecture. We will also visit the Santo Domingo Monastery, which in the past was the Koricancha temple, the most important Inca temple consecrated to the worship of the sun.

In the afternoon we will visit the four ruins that are located in the vicinity of the city of Cusco: Just 2 kilometers from Cusco is the Sacsayhuaman Fortress. It is a monumental complex built between the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. Then we go to Qโ€™enqo, the third ruin is called Puka-Pukara.

Finally we head towards the last ruin: Tambomachay, close to Cusco at 6 km and 3,700 meters high.

Day 2: Cusco โ€“ Sacred Valley - Aguas Calientes

On the way to Machu Picchu! Tonight we will find the town of Aguas Calientes located a few kilometers from the lost city of Machu Picchu. We will take advantage of the day to visit several sites of the Sacred Valley of the Incas with our local guide. We will visit Chinchero, a charming town with cobblestone streets lined with Inca ruins and a colonial church. We will continue with the visit of the agricultural observatory of Moray and the multicolored salt mines of Maras. In Ollantaytambo we will discover an imposing Inca fortress. Where we will better understand how the Incas worked the huge blocks of stones, since the site was not yet finished at the time of the Spanish conquest. In the afternoon, we will take the train to Aguas Calientes

Note: Leave your bags at your hotel in Cuzco today and bring only what you need for the next two days.

      Day 3: Machupicchu - Cusco

Very early in the morning, we will take the collective buses to reach the most famous Inca site in the country: Machu Picchu, "Old Mountain" in Quechua. We will discover it then, still shrouded in the morning mist, this architectural complex built on a narrow ridge surrounded by precipices: an impressive sight that evolves with the progression of the sun. Then we will visit the main streets of the citadel, its neighborhoods, squares, royal houses, agricultural areas, roads and observatories. In the afternoon we return to Aguas Calientes to take the train to Ollantaytambo where a bus awaits us to take us to Cusco.

      Day 4: Cusco - Tinqui (3900M) - Upis (4380M)

In the morning we will leave in the direction of the APU Ausangate. We will have a stop in the city of Urcos, which is the capital of the Cordillera de Vilcanota province. Our route goes up to the Pilluyo pass from which we can already appreciate the "Apu Ausangate", guardian of the city of Cusco and all the towns of the region. We arrive at Ocongate and then continue until we reach Tinqui (3900m). Where we will meet our team of muleteers. Beginning of our adventure where our first camp is in front of Ausangate (6378m) in the small town of Upis (4380m). Possibility of bathing in hot springs.

      Day 5: Upis - Pucacocha (4575M)

We begin to walk slowly through the valley, and then begin to climb along a scree at the foot of the snow-capped mountain. In this rocky chaos, we can see the famous Viscachas playing among the stones or basking in the sun. The ascent continues until a first step (4730 m). Blown by the winds, the reliefs of these mountains take on the appearance of sand dunes that dominate both sides of the valley. We cross a series of lakes until we reach Pucacoccha where we will spend the night.

      Day 6: Pucacocha - Campamento Vinicunca (4555M)

We leave the camp and start to climb slowly towards the pass (4940m). From the latter we have an extraordinary view of the Ausangate that is behind us. We go down to the valley for lunch, before starting the second pass (4980m). In front of us is the Vinicunca valley. Everywhere, the slopes are tinted red and ochre, due to the strong presence of iron oxide in the rock of the massif. We calmly descend to the lower camp in the valley. The bravest can go if they want to the Vinicunca pass to be able to take some photos with the sunset.

      Day 7: Vinicunca Camp - Vinicunca (Rainbow Mountain - 4965M) โ€“ Punku Wiri (4655M)

We leave the camp to reach the Vinicunca pass. Here the clay strata produce a beautiful rainbow on the crest of the mountain, giving it an unreal look, as the colors change from white to purple mixing in a process that gradually transforms into rainbows. We pass to the other side of the mountain and follow a ridge overlooking large valleys with slopes as colorful as possible, hopefully we will see many vicuรฑas. Lunch awaits us in the town of Anta Grande. Our path continues for a few kilometers to reach our camp.
