  • Day 1 Antananarivo

      Antananarivo

      Your island adventure begins in the city centre and capital, Antananarivo. The bustling capital of Madagascar is known as Tana to many travellers. With an open schedule today, just relax, settle in, or wander through the cityโ€™s diverse architectural history. 

      Our guide will meet you at the airport and will take you to the hotel. If you arrive early on the day, contact us at Fosa Travel for information on any attraction that you can visit in town.

  • Day 2 Antananarivo - Andasibe

      Antananarivo - Andasibe

      Day two sets off heading east where youโ€™ll quickly get up close and personal with the islandโ€™s vibrant array of wildlife. Chameleons, lizards, frogs, snakes, butterflies, and Sifaka Lemurs are only the short list of creatures youโ€™ll see first-hand at the Peyrieras Madagascar Exotic Reserve.

      With so many more species of lemur, like Indri and ring-tailed, we will next head farther out to Andasibe, the world-renowned lemur watching paradise.

      In the afternoon, we will visit Parc Mitsinjo, where you can find chameleons, snakes, birds and most importantly the largest lemur species, Indri.

      When night falls, perhaps your true inner-explorer can come alive as weโ€™ll hike through the forest to catch a glimpse of night lemurs and other nocturnal friends.

  • Day 3 Andasibe

      Andasibe

      We canโ€™t see it all in just one day, though. Spend hours more wandering through Andasibe National Park on Day 3. Unique, rare, and endangered all describe the species of animals youโ€™ll see here, including 11 different lemur species.

      In the afternoon, the wildlife adventure continues as we visit Lemurs Island and Crocodile Park. There, youโ€™ll walk among flora and fauna unlike anywhere else on Earth.

  • Day 4 Andasibe - Antsirabe

      Andasibe - Antsirabe

      After a couple of days in nature, Day 4 combines travel and tour. We will depart Andasibe early in the morning, heading inland 7.5 hours through beautiful highlands and valleys to the colourful and classic city of Antsirabe. The French called it โ€˜The city of waterโ€™ for its thermal springs.

      Once there, Madagascarโ€™s iconic rickshaws will wheel you around to all the top sites.

  • Day 5 Antsirabe - Morondava
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Antsirabe - Morondava

      Famous for its river delta, and but even more for Baobab trees, our excursion next heads to Morondava on the west coast of Madagascar.

      Weโ€™ll leave early in the morning for the 10-hour drive. Midway, weโ€™ll stop for lunch at Miandrivazo, which is considered the hottest place in Madagascar.

  • Day 6 Morondava
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Morondava

      Down the river delta of Morondava on the morning of Day 6, weโ€™ll sail through the mangroves and visit the fisherman village.


      With a free afternoon, you can long along and relax on the beach, enjoy the facilities in the hotel or walk around the city before we travel to Bekopaka on the next day.

  • Day 7 Morondava - Bekopaka
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Morondava - Bekopaka

      On Day 7, we will continue our trip to Bekopaka, a small village located next to the Bemaraha National Park. To add to the excitement, we will cross the Tsiribihina River and the Manambolo River by little ferry. Be prepared for a ferry crossing like no other you have experienced.

  • Day 8 Bekopaka
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Bekopaka

      Our visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, starts here. The diversity of this landscape is marked by sweeping canyons, gorges, and grand waterfalls, guaranteed to give any traveller goosebumps. We will take a boat to the Gorge of Manambolo, a river with spectacular landscapes, before we start our journey to the small tsingy.

  • Day 9 Bekopaka
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Bekopaka

      Day 9 is a full-day visit to the Big Tsingy. Around an hour from the hotel, we will start our trekking at the Big Tsingy. Be prepared, as โ€œtsingyโ€ means โ€œwhere one cannot walk barefootโ€. So put your hiking boots on to take on this sweeping area covered in spectacular but needle-like rock formations. There are a few circuits that depend on your fitness level, as the trekking can last for 5 hours. The suspension bridge in the park has been declared the worldโ€™s most treacherous footpath. Are you brave enough?

  • Day 10 Bekopaka - Morondava
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Bekopaka - Morondava

      We will leave Bekopaka in the morning. Before going back to Morondava, we will stop at Kirindy Forest and take a night walk to find the night lemurs and other nocturnal species. We will stay overnight at a hotel near Kirindy Forest.

  • Day 11 Morondava
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Morondava

      In the morning, we will visit Kirindy Forest again, weโ€™ll see Fosa, Lemurs, and dozens of other animal species.


      The afternoon is free to discover the scenic tree lines of Baobab Avenue and soak in the sunset on the coastal horizon.

  • Day 12 Morondava - Antsirabe
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Morondava - Antsirabe

      After a restful nightโ€™s sleep at one of Morondavaโ€™s cozy hotels, our tour will return to Antsirabe on the 12th day, approximately a 10 hour trip. Along the way, view the landscape from seaside to highland looking out the window of the air-conditioned bus. 


      Upon arrival, the evening of day twelve is about rest, so settle in to your comfy hotel in Antsirabe.

  • Day 13 Antsirabe - Antananarivo

      Antsirabe - Antananarivo

      The final leg of our journey sends us back to the city where it all began. After a 3.5-hour drive through beautiful and wavy central highlands, weโ€™ll have the day to tour the famous sites of Antananarivo. Highlights of the tour on Day 13 include the Queenโ€™s Palace, Anosy Lake, as well as the markets and French Colonial buildings of Independence Avenue.  

      While the island is ripe with natural beauty, an extra special tour connects you to Antananarivoโ€™s architecture and history at the oldest train station in town, Gare Soarano.
