  • Day 1 Arrival In Antananarivo

      Arrival In Antananarivo

      ยญWelcome and transfer to the hotel Antananarivo, the capital, which is the beating heart of Madagascar. Indeed, the "City of Thousands" is at the same time the largest economic, political, historical and cultural pole. Antananarivo is a step not to be missed because it has an undeniable tourist attraction, which is not always discovered at first sight. The palaces, streets, squares and houses of the upper town tell a fascinating story.

  • Day 2 Antananarivo โ€“ Miandrivazo

      Antananarivo โ€“ Miandrivazo

      We have an early start to this long drive stage. Out of the city, rice fields and different villages define the landscape in the countryside. We stop at Ambatolampy to discover how to make the local aluminium cooking-pot, which models all the population use at home. We stop at Antsirabe and lunch at a local restaurant. Then we drive on west, leaving behind the highlands to the mid-west, villages and people become rare.

      Arrival at Miandrivazo at the end of the day.


  • Day 3 Miandrivazo

      Miandrivazo

      Morning transfer to Masiakampy for the dhow trip down the River Tsiribihina through tobacco plantations landscape, bird spotting, waterfalls and natural pool, crocodiles, a variety of birds, small villages. Lemurs, malachite kingfishers, bats and crocodiles.

  • Day 4 Tsiribihina River Descent

      Tsiribihina River Descent

      The crew prepares the meal and serves it onboard. Passengers can move around, play cards, read books or go up to the solarium roof for a sunbathing and admire the sceneryโ€ฆ Often the locals come to us in the evening and play local music and dance.

  • Day 5 Bekopaka
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Bekopaka

      After the breakfast, we continue to Belo on Tsiribihina with a lunch on the way . 

      An uncomfortable track leads us to Bemaharaha Tsingy National Park, a hundred kilometres takes half a day drive from Belo/ Tsiribihina. Cross Manambolo River to get at Bekopaka village.

  • Day 6 Bekopaka (Small Tsingy)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Bekopaka (Small Tsingy)

      In the morning we descend the Manambolo gorges with traditional โ€œpiroguesโ€. Picnic lunch. In the afternoon we visit the small Tsingys and the caves. Tsingy in Malagasy language means โ€œwalking on the feet tipsโ€: this is due to the extraordinary shape of these eroded lime stones. You see some different lemur species such as the Sifaka or the Gidro. You can also observe the characteristic xerophyteโ€™s flora of this area with the pachypodiums and the Arofys, for instance

  • Day 7 Bekopaka Big Tsingy

      Bekopaka Big Tsingy

      This is one of the most extraordinary sites.

      Tsingy is a real limestone cathedral, a formation with many faults, cracks and eroded blocks to sharp rocks makes it the most spectacular landscape of Madagascar.

      This Jurassic massif formation started 200 millions years ago, the time the sea still covering Bemaraha region. Then the coral plate with seashells came up to the air, the wind and the rain have been sculpting on it since 5 million years to spectacular erosion. You can find 6 species of lemurs, reptiles, 53 kinds of birds. You have also the smallest chameleon there (Brookesia Perarmata).

      This day is an opportunity to discover the most amazing site with a local guide. Lunch in picnic.


      NB: the level of walk difficulty depends on the participantsโ€™ ability and desire. The local guide will advise and recommend you the best choice.


  • Day 8 Bekopaka - Kirindy
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Bekopaka - Kirindy

      We take the same track on the way back to Morondava, go across Manambolo and Tsiribihina Rivers by a car ferry; it might take sometimes a long timeโ€ฆ

      Have lunch at Belo.

      We do few kilometres driving before we arrive at Kirindy Reserve. This dry forest has the largest number of lemursโ€™ species of the Island where we try to find some. There are many nocturnal animals to spot at night.


  • Day 9 Kirindy - Morondava
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Kirindy - Morondava

      Walk in the forest to explore the fauna and flora with a local guide. We might meet the Fosa, the largest carnivorous animal in the country, by chance. 

      We pass through the famous โ€œAllรฉe des Baobabsโ€ just before we get to Morondava town and at the best time, a low sun light setting off, baobab smooth trunk reflects the orange sun ray. You can take wonderful photographs.

  • Day 10 Morondava - Antananarivo
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Morondava - Antananarivo

      Final dive in Morondava, depending on Tsaradiaโ€™s flight schedule, transfer to the airport for flight to Antananarivo.

  • Day 11 International Flight
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      International Flight

      If time permits, you will make a short stop at the artisanal market for some shopping. Transfer to the airport to catch your international flight.
