Below are the names of the hotels where we commonly have our customers stay. Note this is subject to availability. Nights 1-2: Amman, Preferred Accommodation: Amman Airport Hotel Night 3: Wadi Rum area, Preferred Accommodation: Rum Magic Camp or Mazayen Rum Camp Nights 4-5: Petra, Preferred Accommodation: Hayat Zaman Hotel & Resort This tour includes lodging for 1 night, specifically in Wadi Rum. However, upon request, we can book accommodation for you for all nights at establishments which meet your needs. For years, we automatically included 5-star hotels in our travel packages. In the interest of our customers, we ultimately decided to reduce the price of our tours and encourage specifically those with higher expectations to simply request room upgrades. Why? Some of our customers want simple and clean but ultimately cheap rooms. Some of our customers want 4-star hotels and are willing to pay more. Others want nothing short of 5-star extravagance. There isnโ€™t a way to uphold ONE standard for hotels in our travel packages considering everyone has a different budget. What we CAN uphold are the standard and quality of our tours, all of which offer nothing short of a first-class experience. Again, upon request, we can upgrade your room type for the night included as well as book lodging for all nights on this tour. Let us know and we will provide you with pricing options.

Others

Any airfare, alcohol, travel insurance, any government-imposed visa fees and anything not mentioned in the itinerary Prior to arrival, you need to purchase specifically the โ€˜Jordan Wandererโ€™ pass. This waives the visa-upon-arrival fee.

Flights

Flights are not included in the price. However, we would be happy to assist you in finding airfare upon request.

Insurance

All participants are required to book travel insurance within 72 hours of booking this tour. At a minimum, such insurance must cover cancellations, medical expenses, evacuations, flight loss or delays and 24/7 assistance.

      Day 1: A True Gastronomic Capital In The Middle East

      Our tour starts in Amman. While not as old as other capital cities in the Middle East, Amman is definitely cleaner and better maintained. It can also compete with the best of them in terms of restaurants, jewelry shops and perfume shops. If you want to stay skinny, Amman is NOT the place to visit. Even though the meals are generally quite healthy, the desserts available on the streets will make you pack on a few pounds. Fortunately, we can burn off the calories while walking the streets and alleys.

      Day 2: A Mud Bath In A Salt Lake & Floating On Water

      From Amman, we go on a daytrip, specifically to the Dead Sea. This is a salt-lake which has attracted visitors from around the Mediterranean basin for thousands of years. It was one of the worldโ€™s first health resorts and has been the supplier of a wide variety of products from asphalt for Egyptian mummification to potash for fertilizers. People also use the salt and the minerals from the Dead Sea to create cosmetic products as well as herbal lotions. Bring your swimming attire and expect to be floating on water, literally.

      Day 3: Four-Wheeling On A Seemingly Different Planet & Dancing In The Moonlight

      We relocate from Amman to Wadi Rum. This is a valley cut into sandstone and granite rock, located in the south of the country. The area is best explored by a guided 4x4 tour, which we go on. The evening ends with music, dancing and dinner. We then sleep in our luxury tents.

      Day 4: Mamaโ€™S Homemade Cooking, A Candlelight Illumination Show & Little Petra

      We relocate from Wadi Rum to Jordanโ€™s most popular destination, Petra. After checking into our hotel, we head to Little Petra. It is a 15-minute drive away from town. Following the tour, we are taken to a native Jordanianโ€™s home. There we watch how traditional food is prepared as well as have dinner. The combination of tasty cuisine, rich culture and good company creates an unforgettable experience. Later this evening, we check out โ€œPetra by Night.โ€ It is nothing short of a magical experience to see part of the rock city illuminated by candlelight.

      Today we explore Petra. Established possibly as early as 312 BC, Petra is famous for its rock-cut architecture and water conduit system. This archaeological park has been a World Heritage Site since 1985. UNESCO described it as โ€œOne of the most precious cultural properties of manโ€™s cultural heritage.โ€ Petra was also chosen by the Smithsonian Magazine as one of the โ€œ28 Places to See Before You Die.โ€ Popular attractions include the Treasury, a roman theater, royal tombs, a monastery and a winding sandstone canyon known as the Siq.
