      Amman & Jerash City Tours (B)Today begins with a tour of Jordan's capital city. Amman is rich in history dating back many millennia. See the Citadel - the former home of the ancient Temple of Hercules, The Umayyad Palace, and the Byzantine Church before we make our way to the 6000-seater Roman theatre. The ancient theatre is still in use today, playing host to numerous cultural events.From Amman, we travel to Jerash - one of the world's most well-preserved Roman architecture sites outside of Italy. Hidden away from the world underneath sand for centuries, archaeological work over the past 70 years has revealed that Jerash was a fine example of Roman urbanism, with paved and colonnaded streets, hilltop temples, impressive theatres, public squares and plazas. Overnight in Amman.Enjoy a city tour of Amman and ancient Jerash.

      Transfer to Petra (B)Leave Amman with a scenic drive along the Kingโ€™s Highway to Petra, cross deep Wadis, olive groves and remote rural villages. On your way youโ€™ll see the Roman mosaics at Madaba and visit Kerak Castle, one in a chain of Crusader fortresses built across Jordan in the 12th century. Overnight in Petra.Note: This evening, for an extra cost, you can book an optional Petra by Candlelight tour.Travel along the King's Highway to Petra.

      Petra Tour & Overnight in Bedouin Camp (B)Today we have a whole day today to tour the ancient red city of Petra (2-3 hour guided tour, then free time to explore yourselves). We start by walking through the Siq, a slot canyon which rises to 200m and narrows to just 2m wide in places. Your guide will explain how the buildings here are mainly elaborate facades carved into the rock from the top down, and also discuss the spiritual significance of the building style. See the ruined Roman amphitheatre, and colonnaded street, and during your free time you can walk up a steep and narrow winding gorge past beautifully coloured sandstone cliff walls to the huge and imposing 'Monastery'. The Monastery is the biggest of Petra's carved monuments at 50m high and 45m wide, and offers magnificent views across Wadi Aruba and the Jordan valley. Another climb can take you to the High Place of Sacrifice, and Lion Fountain.Late in the afternoon, we'll head into the spectacular desert scenery of Wadi Rum for a night under the stars thanks to the hospitality of the Bedouins. We stay in a comfortable camp with a great remote location between the sand dunes and the rocky cliffs, well away from the road and traffic.You can sleep in your traditional goat hair tent, with a proper bed and all bedding provided, or bring your own sleeping bag and find a secluded location to sleep outside under the stars.Enjoy a guided tour of the historical rock-carved city of Petra.

      Wadi Rum 4WD Tour & Dead Sea Visit (B)We start the day exploring the beautiful desert and mountain scenery of Wadi Rum. We'll take a jeep safari through the beautiful desert scenery, seeing more of the sheer cliffs and bizarre rock formations. Keep an eye out for the copper-coloured 'jebels', the region's iconic mesmerising rock formations.Next we'll head north towards the Dead Sea, one of the planet's most spectacular destinations. Not only is it the lowest point on earth at 400 metres below sea level, it's also considered to be one of the world's most spiritual landscapes, filled with dramatic, natural wonders. Float in this dense, rich, cocktail of salts and minerals for a truly unforgettable experience.We will finish the day back at our hotel in Amman.Go off-road in a 4WD jeep safari & explore Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea.
