Itinerary of your trip Around Georgia Within 8 Days

  • Day 1 Tbilisi
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Tbilisi

Meeting at Tbilisi airport with a sign or organizing an additional transfer from Vladikavkaz. Transfer to the hotel, check-in at the hotel at 14:00. Welcome to Tbilisi! Today we will get acquainted with an amazing ancient city, which was located on both sides of the Kura River back in the 5th century. Tbilisi was the main goal of conquest in the Caucasus for all the peoples who came here. We will find out why this city was so interesting to any invading country on our walking sightseeing tour of Tbilisi. Much is kept within the walls of this city: love, suffering, hermitage, conquest and liberation, joy and happiness. We will talk about all this with you on our tour of old Tbilisi. Dinner at the Toastmasterโ€™s, where we will learn to sing, dance, sculpt khinkali, cook khachapuri and become familiar with the culture of the Georgian feast (included in the price).

  • Day 2 Kazbegi Planned National Park
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Kazbegi Planned National Park

Breakfast at the hotel from 8:00 to 10:00. Departure from the hotel towards Kazbegi at 10:00, collection in the lobby from 9:45. Today we will visit the great Kazbegi, which has become an inspiration for many poets and writers. Our path lies along the Georgian military road, which was previously a large trade route. Stories about the creation of this path, beautiful panoramas and observation platforms await us. Zhinvali Reservoir located in the intermountain region, the emerald water under the rays of the sun does not allow us to pass by. You can take cool photos here. Ananuri fortress. This ancient fortress rises above the reservoir. Previously, the main fortress of the gorge stood as a guard on the Silk Road. We will learn its tragic history and see ruins that will tell about the medieval culture of this region. The next stop will be the observation deck โ€œFriendship of Peoplesโ€. It rose above the canyon of the Aragvi River. Beautiful views and panoramas of the entire canyon. Cross Pass is our highest point of ascent. During the cold season, it is often closed due to avalanches. This place was noted back in the 18th century as a difficult part of the route to cross. Church of St. Trinity in Gergeti at the foot of Mount Kazbeg (2200 m above sea level) has risen above the village of Stepantsminda since the 14th century. Shelter or treasury? Why were temples built so high in inaccessible places? We will tell you this secret! Returning to Tbilisi takes up to 3 hours of return travel. We can stop along the way for dinner and taste local khinkali and other Georgian dishes. This region is truly considered the birthplace of khinkali. P.S. The second and third days can be swapped based on weather conditions.

  • Day 3 Telavi
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Telavi

Breakfast at the hotel from 8:00 to 10:00.

Departure for the excursion to Kakheti at 10:00, the collection starts at 9:45.

The road to the Alazani Valley lies through the Gombori Pass (altitude 1692 m above sea level), a beautiful road and the closest route to Telavi. A magnificent park and the birthplace of bottled wine, a hub of 19th-century culture, and a place of romantic encounters. The estate of Tsinandali - Prince Alexander Chavchavadze, will give us a wonderful walk through the botanical park. We will visit the princeโ€™s house museum, a literary salon of the 19th century, taste local wines and, of course, try the famous wine - Tsinandali in his homeland. Visit to Telavi. Bodbe Monastery is a place of blissful peace. A convent from the 4th century, a place marked by God himself and the tomb of Equal-to-the-Apostles St. Nino. Many have heard about the city of Love Sighnaghi. The place is beautiful, with historical places, pleasant for a walk. There is an option for couples to get married during the tour. Dinner at a family restaurant overlooking the Alazani Valley in Sighnaghi (not included in the price). Return to Tbilisi, on the way you can stop for homemade churchkhela, souvenirs and gifts. The second and third days may change places based on weather or technical conditions.

  • Day 4 Mtskheta
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Mtskheta

Breakfast at the hotel from 8:00 to 10:00.

Meet at the hotel lobby at 9:45. Today we are leaving for Western Georgia.

This is the second half of our country, which was sung by the ancient Greeks. They founded new cities here in ancient times, settled on these lands, and began to cohabit with the locals. The unique nature, cuisine, and climate will provide a great contrast compared to previously visited places. Along the way, we will visit more than one attraction. Jvari Monastery of the 6th century was the place that inspired M. Lermontov. Mtskheta is the ancient capital of the ancient Kartli kingdom, the formation of the Georgian people begins from these places, as well as Orthodoxy. Svetitskhoveli Cathedral has been rising since the 11th century and guards the most sacred thing on this earth - the tunic of Christ. The Cathedral is the most intimate place. The city of Akhaltsikhe - the city began to emerge in the 9th century and reached the expansion of trade routes. The Rabat fortress is a mixture of Muslim and Orthodox culture. We will spend the night today in the city of Akhaltsikhe at the Malkhaza guest house.

  • Day 5 Kutaisi
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Kutaisi

Breakfast at the guest house at 9:00, we leave after breakfast at 10:00.

Rabat Fortress is an 11th-century fortress, a restored complex, but perfectly captures the spirit of the mixture of cultures of this place. We have a long journey ahead of us to Western Georgia, but along the way, we will make several stops for relaxation. Everyone wants to visit Borjomi and see the legendary spring with their own eyes. We will do this by visiting a hot and cold spring, walking through the historical park, and continuing to the city of Akhaltsikhe. Kutaisi is an ancient city in western Georgia, founded in ancient times, the approximate age of the city is 3500 years. A huge number of legends and tales of Ancient Greece are associated with this city. The nature in this part of Georgia is completely different, nature blooms earlier, the climate is warmer and more favorable. Check into the hotel and relax before the next busy day.

      Martvili Canyon
