Our journey begins with a 6 to 7 hour road trip to Pokhara Valley and its impressive Phewa Tal (lake) and then checking in to your hotel close to the lake.  There is plenty to keep you busy along Lakeside with many shops, bars and restaurants.  It is also known for its panoramic views of Annapurna, Mt. Machapuchare in the north, Dhaulagiri in the west, Manaslu and Lamjung Himal in the east. Option: fly to Pokhara on a 30 minute scenic flight.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Drive From Pokhara To Dhampus (1640 M /5,380 Ft) And Trek To Deurali (2100 M / 6,889 Ft)

Day 2: Drive From Pokhara To Dhampus (1640 M /5,380 Ft) And Trek To Deurali (2100 M / 6,889 Ft)

A 30 minute drive from Pokhara takes us to Phedi, the starting point of our trek. The trail leads us up stone steps toward Dhampus, situated about 500 meters higher on the ridge. The area around Dhampus is settled by Brahmin, Chhetri, and some Gurung people. At Dhampus you will have some fantastic views of the Annapurna Ranges. Tonight we stay at Dhampus

      Day 3: Trek From Deurali (2100 M / 6,889 Ft) To Forest Camp (2600M /8,530 Ft)

From Pothana the trail is steep as it passes through thick rhododendron, birch, oak, maple, hemlock, and daphnia to forest camp. Fromm here you can see the towering peak of Annapurna South in the distance. On the trail it is likely we will come across numerous wildlife species: leopards, deer, monkeys and numerous species of birds living in this dense jungle.  We will emerge from the forest into a clearing that is named Low Camp (3100m). The distinctive Mt. Machapuchare (with its distinctive fishtail-shaped peak) looms before us, with its lower regions skirted by the Mardi Himal ridge that is now clearly visible as a separate mountain.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Trek From Forest Camp (2600M /8,530 Ft) To High Camp (3600M / 11,811 Ft)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 4: Trek From Forest Camp (2600M /8,530 Ft) To High Camp (3600M / 11,811 Ft)

An early start this morning takes us to the highest point on this trek. You will gradually get used to the higher altitude throughout the trek. The imposing peaks appear close enough to reach out and touch. The massive face of the mountain highlights the sheer size of Mardi Himal (5587m). We will continue trekking higher during the day to get a better view of these massive peaks before returning to High Camp in the evening.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Trek From High Camp (3600M / 11,811 Ft) To Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500M /14,763 Ft) And Back To Low Camp (3,050M /10,006 Ft)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 5: Trek From High Camp (3600M / 11,811 Ft) To Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500M /14,763 Ft) And Back To Low Camp (3,050M /10,006 Ft)

In the early morning you will appreciate the most stunning sunrise views of the grand Himalayas. Firstly, we will follow a trail along the ridge of the Mardi Himal Base Camp (5300m). The sun will be reflecting off the face of Annapurna South with Machapuchare towering above us. We then have a tough and physically challenging descent back to High Camp where we will stop for lunch before continuing back down to Low Camp where weโ€™ll spend the night. The mountain views will well and truly compensate for the challenging trek today. Mardi Himal is considered a sacred mountain for both Hindus and Buddhists. Today on the trail we will most likely see Nepalโ€™s national bird, the Lophophorus, a member of the pheasant family, as it flies overhead.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Trek From Low Camp (3,050M /10,006 Ft) To Jhino Danda (1780M / 5,839 Ft)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 6: Trek From Low Camp (3,050M /10,006 Ft) To Jhino Danda (1780M / 5,839 Ft)

We descend from Low Camp down a very steep trial through the forest. We pass a shepherds hut in a broad clearing after an hourโ€™s hike where we can stop to rest our legs. The trial continues down steeply to the hillside village of Siding, about 500 meters above the river valley. Trek descends through the village of Landruk- an ethnic group of Gurung settlement and reaches Jhino danda. We spend our time to relax in a natural hot spring.

  • Day 7 Day 7: Jhinu Danda (1,780M / 5,839 Ft) To Siwa/Ghandruk Phedi (1,150M/3,770Ft) Drive To Pokhara (820M ) Via Nayapul (1050M)

Today is our last day on the trail as we follow the Modi River as we head down to the valley. We slowly descend through the terraced farmlands until we come to Siwal/Ghandruk Phedi. From here we travel by road through the beautiful countryside back to Pokhara.
