  • Day 1 Day 1: Arrival To Cusco โ€“ City Tour

      Day 1: Arrival To Cusco โ€“ City Tour

      We will await you at the airport to pick you up and welcome you to the city of Cusco. After a transfer to your hotel for check-in and a moment for you to settle in for the next few days, in the afternoon we will take you throughout the city to visit the main attractions. We begin with Qoricancha โ€“ one of the main Inca temples in Cusco. When the Spanish arrived to Peru, they proceeded to build a massive colonial church, today known as Santo Domingo. Afterwards we will leave the main city to visit the archaelogical sites of Saqsayhuaman, Qenqo, and Tambomachay. We will finish our tour at roughly 6:00 pm.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Sacred Valley (Chinchero โ€“ Moray โ€“ Salt Mines) - Aguas Calientes

      Day 2: Sacred Valley (Chinchero โ€“ Moray โ€“ Salt Mines) - Aguas Calientes

      This day we will begin our adventure up to the high plains, stopping first at Chinchero, an important ancient site for the Inca, known as the birth place of the rainbow. We will visit the main site with its picturesque conlonial church located upon the ancient archaelogical site and continue to a local textile center where we will learn about the ancient science of weaving from the very artesans themselves and how they bring to magic these wonderful pieces of art dyed with minerals, plants and seeds. Continuing through the rolling hills we will visit the enigmatic circular terraces of Moray where we will learn about how these constructions served as an experimental agricultural center to selectivly cultivate the best breeds of Andean staple crops at different temperatures.  Near Moray we will stop at the town of Maras to then visit the ancient salt mines, used for thousands of years by local families to supply salt not only to the Incas, but still to this day offering us an example of the natural art of salt harvesting straight from the land.

      In the afternoon, we will travel to Ollantaytambo and board our train to Aguas Calientes for our visit to Machu Picchu.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Machu Picchu - Cusco

      Day 3: Machu Picchu - Cusco

      Today we will wake early to have breakfast and board the bus up to Machu Picchu, and, if we are lucky, receive the first rays of the sun as dawn breaks and lights up this magical mountain. Your guide will be with you at every moment to inform you about the site and answer any questions. The guided tour through the Sanctuary will last roughly 2 hours. Later we will begin our return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and rest before our late afternoon train to Ollantaytambo. Following our journey by train, our land transport will await our transfer to Cusco and back to your Hotel.

      Our day begins before dawn for a light breakfast before our journey by bus to โ€œVinincuncaโ€ or also known as the Mountain of Seven Colors. Along the way, there are many opportunities to appreciate the essence of the Andes, ranging from small agricultural communities, snow-capped peaks, herds of alpacas, and abundant vegetation. At the end of the road we will begin our trek towards the high pass where we can observe the picturesque mountain of many colors. After lunch we will familiarize ourselves more with the area, the community and its traditions before returning to the city of Cusco.
