Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Lhasa

Stop At: Potala Palace, No.35 Gongqian Alley, Beijing Middle Road Cheng Guan District, Lhasa 850000 China
Flying to Tibet and taking a train to Tibet are two main ways for travelers to get to Tibet. When you arrive in Lhasa, your tour guide will wait for you and drive you to your hotel immediately. After checking in the hotel, the time is free for you. You can walk around to take some photos of Potala Square. You can also have a rest in your hotel. To be full of vigor in the following days, youโ€™d better stay in your hotel to have a good rest. It is a good way to adapt to the new environment and the high altitude.

Day 2: Lhasa Tour - Potala Palace, Johkang Temple, and Barkhor Street

Stop At: Potala Palace, No.35 Gongqian Alley, Beijing Middle Road Cheng Guan District, Lhasa 850000 China
In the morning, we will visit the landmark of Lhasa - Potala Palace. It was built by the 33rd great king of Tibet in the 7th century. As the center of Tibetan culture, politic, and history, Potala Palace displays lots of Tibetan antiques. In the past, it was used as the winter palace for Dalai Lama. Now, it has become a modern museum with precious items, paintings, statues, etc.

Stop At: Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, Chengguan District, Lhasa 850000 China
After lunch, we will visit the Buddhist center - Jokhang Temple. It was built in the seventh century. The statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at the age of twelve worshiped by Buddhists from all over the world is the highlight in the Jokhang Temple.

Stop At: Barkhor Street, Chengguan District, Lhasa 851500 China
Around Jokhang Temple, there is a commercial street named Barkhor Street. Here, you can buy all kinds of Tibetan items and goods as a souvenir. You can also enjoy the Tibetan tea in a local tea house.

Day 3: Lhasa Tour - Drepung and Sera Monastery

Stop At: Drepung Monastery (Zhebang Si), Southern Slope of Genpeiwuzi Mountain, Chengguan District, Lhasa 850000 China
In the morning, we are planning to visit one of the โ€œgreat threeโ€ Gelug monasteries of Tibet - Drepung monastery. Built-in 1416, the Drepung monastery is famous for the biggest monastery kitchen inside the monastery. After that, we can have a tour of the Buddhist Sculpture Carving workshop.

Stop At: Sera Monastery, Wuze Hill , Sera Chengguan District, Lhasa 850000 China
After lunch, we will visit the Sera Monastery. Tibetan Buddhism has its own charm, so it attracts many people to study it. If you are interested in Tibetan Buddhism, you have no reason to miss Sera Monastery. From 3 - 5 in the afternoon, there will be held a hot Buddhism debate. From their interesting gestures and contents, you will know more about Tibetan Buddhism.

Day 4: Lhasa- Shigatse via Gyantse

Stop At: Yamdrok Yumtso Lake, Langkazi Country, Nagarze County 851100 China
Today, we will leave to Shigatse from Lhasa. It is the best way to enjoy the breathtaking scenery along the way. When we arrive at the Gampala pass, we can see the crystal-like Yamdrok-tso Lake. Under the blue sky, Yamdrok-tso is like a girl dancing among the snowy mountains.

Stop At: Palkhor Monastery and Kumbum Stupa, Northwest of the County, Gyangze County 857400 China
After the Yamdrok-tso Lake, we will visit the Korola Glacier on the way to Shigatse. As we reach Manak Dam Lake, you can see colorful prayer flags waving in the pass. When we arrive in Gyantse, we must have a tour of the famous Pelkor Monastery and Gyantse Kumbum. We will arrive in Shigatse in one and a half hours. After visiting Barley Mill, you can have a good rest in your hotel in Shigatse.

Day 5: Shigatse to Everest Base Camp

Stop At: Mt. Everest Base Camp, kathmandu, Thamel, Tingri County 858200 China
Everest Base Camp is located in Tingri, and it is the best and safest place for travelers to enjoy the grandeur of Mt Everest. After visiting Tashilunpo Monastery, we will head to EBC. You are required to hold Alienโ€™s travel permit when visiting EBC. So we help you get it firstly, then, we head to Lhatse.
In the afternoon, we will continue to drive to EBC. On the way, we can visit the famous Mt. Everest National Nature Reserve. After passing a narrow road, we will arrive at the destination. If the weather is fine, you can see the summit of Mt Everest here.

Stop At: Rongbuk Monastery, near North Everest Base Camp, Tingri County China
Visit Rongbuk Monastery, the highest monastery in the world.
Duration: 1 hour

Day 6: EBC and return to Shigatse

Stop At: Mt. Everest Base Camp, kathmandu, Thamel, Tingri County 858200 China
The sunrise of the Mt Everest in the morning is very stunning. After that, your tour guide will take you to visit the Rongbu Monastery. It is the highest monastery in the world. Then, we will drive back to Shigatse.

Day 7: Shigatse to Lhasa

Today, we will drive back to Lhasa. On the way back to Lhasa, we can see the deep Yalong Valley and enjoy the beautiful natural views of it. In the afternoon, we will arrive in Lhasa.

Day 8: Lhasa to Namtso Lake, drive back to Dunxumg or Yampachen

Stop At: Lake Namtso, Nakchu Region, Damxung County China
How can we miss the famous Namtso Lake? As the highest salt lake in the world, Namtso Lake is one of the famous holy lakes in Tibet. After enjoying the beauty of this holy lake, we will have a short trek to Tashi Dor Island and by the lake. Then, we will drive back to Yampachen to have a good rest.

Day 9: Yampachen to Lhasa

Stop At: Yangpachen Hot springs, Yangpachen Town, Lhasa China
Today, you can have a spa in the famous Yampanchen hot spring. It is a natural hot spring located in the south of the Nyenchen Tangula Mountains. It is a wonderful experience to enjoy the charming natural views when having a natural spa. After that, we will drive back to Lhasa city. There is one historic spot which you cannot miss: Chimelong Nunnery. Here is a holy place where the sky burial held. Sky burial is a kind of burial ceremony in Tibet. The dead body will be dismantled and consecrated to the vultures. While it is not allowed to see the sky burial based on the law.
