This temple houses the Emerald Buddha. Although this Buddha measures only 66 cm, it is the most important religious symbol for the Thai.

Stop At: Pak Khlong Talat (Flower Market), Jakkrapet Road, Bangkok 10200 Thailand
Then you go to one of the largest flower markets in Bangkok. This is near China Town. Many colorful and wonderfully scented flowers are sold here every day. Lunch will be served at a local Thai restaurant. After lunch you will explore Bangkok from the water. During an hour you will sail through the canals of Bangkok, called Thai klongs. The city is crossed by the Chao Praya River, which is considered the lifeline of the city. Because the roads are often very full, water transport is the solution. Every day many taxi boats sail along the Chao Praya River. Many people live on the water in wooden houses on stilts. Along the way you will come across parlevinkers who try to offer their merchandise from their boat. After this klongtour you will return to your hotel. The evening is at leisure.

On the other side of the river it is quiet and beautifully green; a completely different world. There are concrete paths that lead along fruit plantations. An experience not to be missed! Day 5: Khao Yai โ€“ Ayutthaya โ€“ Kanchanaburi

Stop At: Ayutthaya, Ayutthaya, Ayutthaya Province
In the early morning you will leave for Ayutthaya, the city that was the capital of Thailand for 400 years. There are many ancient temples in this city, many of which have unfortunately been destroyed by the Burmese. You will visit some temples and ruins that the city has, so you get a good impression of what the city once looked like. A lunch stop is also made. You continue your journey to another historically important city: Kanchanaburi. The city is located near the Burmese border. During the Second World War, thousands of prisoners of war were forced to build the Burma Railway under the coercion of the Japanese. Thousands of prisoners of war have died as working conditions were dire and tropical diseases erupted. This is the reason that the Burma Railway has been nicknamed "Death Railway". The first stop in Kanchanaburi is the JEATH war museum, which is built in the form of a Japanese camp. The theme of the museum is the construction of the death railway in 1942 and 1943. JEATH stands for Japan, England, Australia, Thailand and Holland. These nationalities were most involved in the construction of the controversial Burma Railway. After the museum you will visit "The Bridge over the River Kwai". The bridge has been bombed several times in the past. This is clearly visible in the places where the round parts have been replaced by rectangular parts. At the moment the bridge is still in use and if you are lucky you will see one of the trains moving slowly over the bridge.

Stop At: Erawan Waterfalls, Moo 4 Tha Kradan, Erawan National Park 71250 Thailand
After a delicious breakfast you will leave for the Erawan waterfalls. Here the water finds its way down through seven plateaus. We personally think the fifth plateau is the most beautiful. It is a bit of a climb, but definitely worth it. Afterwards it is wonderful to cool down in the crystal clear water (so don't forget your swimwear). The Erawan waterfalls are loved not only by humans, but also by animals. Many birds live there and screaming macaques swing wildly in the trees.
Duration: 5 hours

Stop At: River Kwai, Kanchanaburi Thailand
After lunch you will go to one of the most unique accommodations in Thailand: the floating hotel. The resort, consisting of bamboo rafts with houses on it, is in a truly photogenic location. Lie back in your hammock and enjoy the surroundings. For cooling, simply jump into the river and let yourself be carried away by the current. Do not forget to climb out again at the last staircase, otherwise you will drift to "The Bridge over the River Kwai". Your dinner will be served at the resort in the evening, with the sound of the jungle and river in the background. Eventually you will fall asleep while you gently feel the swell of the river.

Day 7: Kanchanaburi - Hua HIn

Stop At: Damnoen Saduak, Damnoen Saduak District, Ratchaburi 70130, Thailand
After breakfast it's time to go to your next destination: Hua Hin. On the way you will visit the Floating Market and the train market. As soon as you are close to the floating market Damnuern Saduak, you exchange the (mini) bus for a longtail boat. With this boat you will cruise through a beautiful green oasis to the floating market. Along the way you pass authentic houses on stilts. Once you arrive at the floating market you will enter a different world. Even early in the morning, negotiations are already underway to find the right price. The Thai skilfully navigate their boats with all kinds of merchandise. Stroll around the market and don't forget your camera.
Duration: 3 hours

Stop At: Maeklong Railway Market (Talad Rom Hub), Si Champa Alley, Mae Klong 75000 Thailand
After the floating market, it's time for another famous Thai market, the Maeklong train market. A market has been built on and along the railway. Every day, the Thai are busy buying and selling all kinds of stuff. However, this is disrupted several times a day. As soon as the signal of the train sounds, the buyers disappear and the sellers quickly remove their belongings from the rails. The train passes the market at a snail's pace, after which the sellers put their things back and continue as if nothing had happened. A very special experience to experience!
