  • Day 1 Day 1: Reach Kathmandu Via Various International Airline And Transfer To Hotel.

      Day 1: Reach Kathmandu Via Various International Airline And Transfer To Hotel.

      On arrival get received by our staff and guide and transfer to your respective hotels in the hub of Kathmandu. After checking into your lovely rooms, get refreshed from jet-leg. Then join in with other members of Upper Mustang Trek.


      Our guide / leader will brief with information about the hotels-including detail of trekking regarding local lodge, walks, view, history and culture.  Simultaneously, with few important doโ€™s and donโ€™ts while you are with us having enjoyable times.


      Evening includes a nice dinner in a pleasant Nepalese restaurant with local cultural programs. Remember the next day morning is the time to start our trip to Upper Mustang Trek.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Drive / Fly To Pokhara 820M (220 K.M โ€“ 06 Hrs Rides (30 Mins By Air).

      Morning starts with drive on tourist coach or smaller vehicle depending upon group size. Thus this journey that takes you away from Kathmandu valley. Gradually head into low warmer areas with views of snow-capped mountains. As drive continues passing farm villages and town then head in Nepal Mid-West to reach at scenic Pokhara city.


      At Pokhara, transfer to nice hotels by the serene lake Phewa. Also, get views of Annapurna and Manaslu mountain range with towering peaks of Machhapuchare โ€˜Fish Tailโ€™.

      Early morning from Pokhara, take a short scenic flight to land at Jomsom of 22 mins, facing grand views of Annapurna, Manaslu and Dhaulagiri range of mountains. The flight takes you to Jomsom, a large headquarter town of Mustang district.


      First day of walking begins from Jomsom on gentle path, mostly along Kali-Gandaki river valley.


      After few hours of  walk on the windy valley, reach at interesting village Kagbeni. Here on starts with strong Tibetan culture of Buddhism religion facing views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Nilgiriโ€™s.  Also, Kagbeni  is the entry point to Restricted and former Forbidden Kingdom of Upper Mustang.

      From Kagbeni, morning uphill walk leads to reach beneath a towering canyon into a gorge of Kaligandaki River. Next, Follow the river upstream with grand views of amazing landscapes and red cliffs on both sides of the path. Then head past few villages and hamlets towards a nice cultivated farm land at Tirigaon village.


      Afterwards, walk leads over an interesting and picturesque cliff canyon of red colored erosion. Continue trek around windswept valley for another few hours to reach  Tsele or Chele village for overnight stop. It is a moderate size village located by the Kaligandaki river valley.

      With pleasant overnight at Tsele village, journey continues with a climb to Gyakar village.Walk within wide barren and arid terrain to reach Samar village, a lovely village along the route of Upper Mustang trekking.


      As usual, walk continues towards a small settlement of Bhena. And then leads to a steep uphill to Yamda La top at 3,860 meters. It is a small pass offering glorious views of Mustang wide valley including high peaks like Mt. Dhaulagiri mountain range. After an enjoyable stop with the striking views, descend all the way to Syangboche village for overnight stop.

      Next day morning visit village old monastery, observe Buddhist prayer wheels propelled by fast flowing streams of water. After an interesting tour of the Gompa / monastery, walk continues to Ghami village with majestic views of dry and arid country with distant snow capped peaks.Next, crossing a high ridge, downhill to a nice village at Ghami for overnight stop.

      Morning, cross over Ghami Khola (stream) and follow a long row of interesting Mani walls (holy prayer stone) to reach at Dhakmar village.With short rest here, walk another few hours which brings you at overnight stop in Charang or Tsarang village.


      Charang is an attractive village encircled by large crops fields with buck wheatโ€™s and barley. They are the only crops that can be grown on this high elevation and cold climate. At Tsarang, after organizing overnight stop in local lodge or guesthouse, visit another monastery of Charang village.

  • Day 8 Day 8: Lo-Manthang 3,840 M โ€“ 04 Hrs.

      This morning  walk to reach main highlights of the adventure heading higher side of Upper Mustang where Lo Manthang, a former walled kingdom is located.A short or a half day walk takes  to Lo Manthang for lunch and overnight stop.


      Walk follows a gentle path then cross a steel bridge to reach at Marang village. From here, the trail winds up to a ridge top of a Buddhist monument called Chorten with mani stones in between Charang and Lo Manthang. This top offers grand views of dramatic landscapes which is an extension of Tibetan plateau facing Nilgiriโ€™s, Tilicho and Bhrikuti mountains.


      After a wonderful scenery, walk leads to a climb over Lo La pass at above 3,950 meters high. Then downhill to a stream with an hour walk to enter walled village / town of Lo Manthang. Stop there for todayโ€™s long walk with overnight stay in lodge

      This is an interesting and exciting place as well the highest overnight stop of the journey. Morning after breakfast, explore around important places and a worth a visit to a palace like fort. Moreover, all houses are of Tibetan style with strong influence and way of life. Also, visit through narrow lane and streets of the village.


      Lo-Manthang houses four major monasteries the Namgyal Gompa, ChampaLakhang (God House), Red Thubchen Gompa, Chyodi Gompa and the great Entrance Hall.

  • Day 10 Day 10: Trek To Dhakmar 3,820 M โ€“ 05 Hrs.

      From Lo-Manthang head back to Jomsom spending two nights in Lo-Manthang. Walk on old trekking route passing several farm houses and tended fields with few willow and poplars. These are the only trees that survives in this barren terrain.


      Then a few hours  of trekking takes to Marang village on the same path. Avoiding the main trail to an old walking path, walk six hours all the way to our overnight stop at Dhakmar village.

      Next day morning walk leads to retrace on the same path back towards Ghiling village. Cross a bridge over Ghami Khola to Ghami village, also visit Geling monastery on route.


      Now on walk progress on loosing much elevation as journey heads towards Kaligandaki valley. With gradual uphill, climb to reach at Syangboche village for overnight stop.

      Morning walk leads towards Kaligandaki valley and with few hours climb over Yamda La small pass. It rewards you with great views of surrounding hills and valleys. Afterwards, downhill to Bhena and Samar villages, follow a stream that leads through Gyakar to Chele villages. This day long walk ends at Chusang or Tsusang village.

  • Day 13 Day 13: Trek Back To Jomsom โ€“ 06 Hrs For Last Night Around Mustang.

      From Chusang village walk comes to final end of the trip. So, the last day walk is quite long to Jomsom town. Which leads on gentle downhill following several villages and into a canyon with  high red cliffs to reach Kagbeni village.


      With short rest and  few hours of good walk you will be at Jomsom. Have a last day accommodation around Mustang in Jomsom.

      Last day of our Upper Mustang Trek package completes taking morning short flight to reach at scenic Pokhara.


      Pokhara is a charming place blessed with high Annapurna range of peaks with calm lakes of Phewa and Begnas. On landing  at Pokhara airport, transfer to hotel by the beautiful Phewa Lake, with time to explore around interesting streets of lake side.
